  1. second pete bennison - absolutely brilliant and has saved two of my friends an awful lot of money when someone else told them they needed a new boiler. (they didn't and he fixed it)
  2. Have you contacted the london aquarium management? also get on to london evening standard/metro. This really should not be let go. i feel very angry about this = complete balls up by those paid to keep these attractions a safe place to visit.
  3. I cannot believe the police let a group go simply due to language difficulties? with a child not theirs? A simple chat with the two year old would have ascertained why he was with them and not his parents. This is bonkers
  4. Yes that sign is confusing as it is right by the area we are told to exercise our dogs off lead. I have been told by the cafe people (who liase with the grounds people) that dogs should be on leads within the tarmac'd path, but are free to be off lead on the tarmac path and outside of that. I might be misreading your opening post (so apologies if so) but were you actually attacked or did the dog just run near you? No it is not at all unreasonable to be able to walk about without being savaged by a dog - in which case you should contact the park authorities straight away (and police if necessary)
  5. get the non emergency police round.
  6. hopefully an larger nina christie!! I love her stuff
  7. We used to see a lot more of them up and down lordship lane - when we had a police station (where there were stables)
  8. hope this is a one day wonder! cars coming down the hill were stationary when the lights changed, stopping any movement of the opposite traffic. and well done to the white van that decided he didn't want to queue like the rest of us, and decided to pull round us, onto the wrong side of melbourne grove (before realising why none of us had moved thereby blocking it completely before turning right gunning up the wrong side of the road under the bridge just as the cars were moving. All at primary school chuck out time.
  9. I am looking at stopping virgin and replacing with a freeview/recording box and Orange/EE broadband internet for a significantly lower monthly cost. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? many thanks (admin please move if wrong section)
  10. yes been several times (albeit some years ago) and the kids have always had a fab time.
  11. Good point Louisa - they have probably protected the area from many hideous schemes. I think it is their charitable status that needles me. whole different discussion so I will quietly retire??
  12. I find this incredible. I too witnessed someone driving like a loon the other morning but also, was too late to get his number. A totally different car, but the common thread is that they were both near schools at a time when children are setting off. Surely a good telling off from a police officer is the very least that should be done? do they want to wait for them to kill someone before their hand is slapped. Funny how cameras can pick up parking offences but not much else.
  13. Oh Mr Ben you do make me laugh. Other than protecting their interests I very much doubt they give two hoots about anyone else.
  14. Sorry - I meant category (the family room is almost all younger children) doh! I have one that rarely leaves the bed. It's a bit like having a large hamster - sleeps all day, becomes lively at night and wants to nibble snacks all the time.
  15. I almost feel there should be a separate thread for parents of teenagers - don't want to worry the poor people that are currently dealing with toddlers?..
  16. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Capsulin-Nespresso-Compatible-Capsule-Catering/dp/B00B1SXWOG/ref=pd_sim_grocery_5 these are brilliant - I prefer Lavazza so use these - been doing so for a year now with no problems.
  17. also some practices will charge you ?10 for letter, so that adds insult to injury.
  18. yikes that's scary. Hope you are ok and the police arrived pronto.
  19. the gadget show this week had a section on the different tablets. One that was mentioned was the hubble?? (I saw it in telcos) good luck
  20. I'd quite like a police station with police in it.
  21. sorry wrong section
  22. yes we've had that - teenagers I think (knock down ginger). At between nine and ten thirty. Lights on,telly on - I hardly think burglars are checking us out at this time. Going by most of the threads on burglary, they strike in the early hours, regardless of whether you are in or no. If it was happening during the day, then I would be suspicious.
