  1. can anyone shed any light/experiences about needle exchanges. I can understand why locals might be cheesed off with a late night pharmacy, just from the increased comings and goings when you are trying to sleep. Feelings are running high because of fears and assumptions (some justified, others not) on what might happen. Real experences please. Personally, I don't see why anyone should have to accommodate others self imposed needs if they have a negative impact on residents' quality of life (nimby? moi? yes and sorry NO apologies) however, if in actual fact there are no real negatives - you don't get gangs of people hanging around, actually there arn't any disgarded needles or other unsavoury stuff, well let those proposing this make that clear and offer some guarantees to those who might be affected. Lastly, some of my best friends were drug users, and a more boring, selfish bunch of t**ts you could not wish to meet.
  2. no - haven't had one for a long while (friern road)
  3. there's a darned sight more going on in and around the bellenden area than there is at the top end of east dulwich! believe me I have found out the hard way!! LL is great but beyond that.....
  4. carl lewis = very fast runner......
  5. this was on the london radio news this evening
  6. yes it is frustrating about cat poo ( I am an owner of two) but rather amused by peckhamboy's assumption that you can contain your cat in the garden - mine jump high fences and roam over their 'territory' - despite have a very large garden. I am afraid that is the nature of cats. I, of course, are more bothered by dog poo left on pavements for unsuspecting people to tread in
  7. oh he's gorgeous. Will keep an eye out for him
  8. sorry, I thought it was closed for a refurb??? passed it yesterday and it looked a bit - shut
  9. where to live - crystal palace
  10. yes but what if it isn't all clear??? you could be there for hours.....
  11. pedestrianise LL - nope. Following on from the note about buses on melbourne, it would result in drivers speeding round backroads making these exceedingly dangerous. I used to live on a 'rat run' and P13 route and it was quite scary what people would do when they saw a clear stretch of road on a completely residential street (that includes the P13 drivers) A few more crossings yes, but please be practical.
  12. which bit of goodrich?? I am in friern road nr goodrich if that is any help
  13. I have just seen Kevin Ferdline (Britney's ex) in the Post office on LL
  14. tingawee - what area do you live? rough idea? we are lucky that we have cat friendly neighbours, but if you can get a cat owner in the nearby street that could be worth pursuing
  15. Reading all this with interest, however why is the term 'real estate' used. Estate agents deal in property - residential or commercial. I'm sorry to be such a BOF but I really dislike amercianisms creeping in. OK. so I DO have too much time on my hands - sorry will crawl back into my dingy corner......
  16. fab I thought this line was going to be about some appalling services offered
  17. gosh jogojo that sounds awful. For info, we used Harradines who were recommended to us. they did everything they said they would for the price that was quoted. we would recommend them to others cheers Jan
  18. just to clarify re the rascist nutter - not me!! I may be slow adjusting to my move, but I certainly have no plans to leave SE22 or london for that matter. Yes I know I have only moved a mile or so be it seems further!! cheers
  19. my husband and I have had 5 letters each from foxtons, plus one each from our previous residence as redirected mail. Drove past today, the size of the frontage looks like a supermarket. I hope they all overheat from that expanse of glass.....
  20. typical, I move from the bellenden area and a new eaterie opens. I wish them the best of luck. It is a much nicer area than say, the top end of lordship lane which is where I have moved to.... soullesss!! bigger houses but a definite lack of community (ok, so haven't been here a year yet so perhaps a bit soon to pass judgement!) I shall be paying a visit! ps and if you wonder why I moved, it was for a bigger house - unfortunately there is not much between the standard 3 bed terraces and the fab houses in grove park)
  21. so where is Dulwich Mum anyway?? I was looking forward to meeting her in the queue
  22. oh how sad. horrible to imagine that when the sun was shinging some person was feeling so awful. platitudes I know but...
  23. its fantastic but very expensive - I suppose the admission is based upon you staying all day, however it was about ?11 for me and 2 kids yesterday! Very nice loos too
  24. My friend has gone on holiday and her daughters' two guinea pigs have disappeared from the garden - alerted by the person looking after them. They have gone from a garden at the top of crystal palace road (near Landcroft road) Could you please keep an eye out for these two - dead or alive!! One was white with pink eyes, the other a mixture of black and sand. Not sure yet if it was foxes or foul play but we need to give some info to two little girls. Thanks
  25. yes, much missed - bet its not Fowey tho, something a little more discerning...
