  1. Thanks and I understand. I just think it's something that people are not really aware of.
  2. They were clearing out equipment yesterday so I presume it's close to finished. It's a shame really, Adys Rd has been nice and quiet while the work has been going on.
  3. Friends of Peckham Rye Park has a website at http://www.peckhamryepark.org/opportunities/
  4. I've noticed a fair few used car seats being sold in the forum. My understanding is that second hand car seats (like second hand helmets) should never be used as the purchaser has no idea how they've been treated and whether they're still safe. Also car seats have an expiry date which people often don't know to look for. I wonder if car seat sales should be stopped on the forum or at least a prominent warning be provided on each thread?
  5. Is your mortgage company asking for it? Ours wanted to see evidence that our builders had adequate cover, but this should be a cost of doing business for your builder not something you pay for separately.
  6. We had SNARL leaflets through our door and there?s a laminated flyer outside The Belham school offering a ?10k reward.
  7. They guy who came round to us was late teens or very early twenties. I don?t think he was a scammer, just a guy on commission following a script.
  8. The TfL website says: From Saturday 26 until Monday 28 May: ? There will be no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction, due to Network
  9. I?m more inclined to think they?re on commission than it being a scam. Just like the chuggers you avoid on the high street at lot of door to door fundraisers are paid by the charity based on signups. I personally dislike it, but charities find it more raises a lot more than it costs.

At the moment coaches and lorries get stuck at the corner because of the parked cars.

I think it would put an end to the semi-permanent dumping of commercial and recreational vehicles in Adys Rd and the surrounding streets.
  12. Lettsom Gardens at the top of Camberwell Grove? http://www.lettsomgardens.org.uk/index.html Edit: Actually some googling suggest you might be thinking of Dr Harold Moody Park on Consort Rd.
  13. We've been to lots of kids parties at the Francis Peek centre in Dulwich Park. I don't know if it's cheap though. As it's July have you considered having something outdoors? We've been to parties at the American Garden in Dulwich Park and the Japanese garden in Peckham Rye Park.
  14. I think the Grove Vale library used to stock them.
  15. Also be aware the Villa is only pre-prep, so you have to plan for where your child will go for prep. All of the other schools you?ve listed go through to 11.
  16. I got a very odd flyer through my door the other day. A photo of a dug up skull and lots of broken up graves. Not sure whether the photos were real. It was asking me to contact my councillor and raise concerns.
  17. I thought the point with dormers is that they were within the party walls and so shouldn't there be a brick's width between the two dormers?
  18. Ok that?s really embarrassing. I don?t know how I divided 134.4 by 6 and got 6.4!! If you work a 6 hour day then 134.4 hours is 22.4 days. This also works if you say you do 4 out of 5 days as 28 divided by 5 and times 4 is also 22.4.
  19. If you?re doing part time that aren?t full days then you need to work it out on an hourly basis. From https://www.breathehr.com/blog/zero-hours-contracts-holiday-pay-and-entitlement it states ?Your worker is entitled to a pro-rata amount of 5.6 weeks holiday, which is equivalent to 12.07% of hours worked over a year. The 12.07% figure is calculated by taking 5.6 weeks? holiday and dividing it by 46.4 weeks (which is 52 weeks less 5.6 weeks). So, holiday is accrued at a rate of 12.07% per hour.? This is the same way the government calculator works it out which I linked to previously.
  20. John Lewis have a good and inexpensive collection called ?House? that?s what we use instead of the Ikea frames now.
  21. James I hope you will a good job for your constituents. I also hope you?ll speak to your colleagues in neighbouring wards (particularly Rye Lane) and ask them to at least answer constituent emails if not also post on here. The most disappointing things about the Labour Party is they seem to take the electorate around here for granted.
  22. Have you used the calculator on the UK Gov website (https://www.gov.uk/calculate-your-holiday-entitlement)? According to this you're entitled to 134 hours and 24 minutes holiday. If a bank holiday falls on one of your usual working days your employer can deduct those hours you'd usually work from the entitlement. Nunheadmum - The entitlement is 5.6 weeks (pro-rated for part time) if a bank holiday is usually a working day they can deduct that from the allowance but they can't give you less than 5.6 pro-rated.
  23. Casa in Bellenden Rd should be able to help.

But in France you have a compulsory National ID card scheme. After the Windrush scandal it should be obvious that there are legitimate citizens in the UK who cannot access ID through no fault of their own. Edited to stay more on topic.
  25. We?ve used the valet parking purchased direct from the Gatwick website on a few occasions and been happy with the service. You drop your keys in to the office in the short stay car park and pick up your keys from the same place when you get back. My only complaint is when we used it in the middle of the summer holidays there was quite a wait to drop in our keys, the other occasions have been fine. This is only for the ?official Gatwick? service, I?d be more nervous of other providers.
