  1. I know! They are always open and we assumed the same. Great that the staff get to enjoy Easter in the sunshine. Tesco near Peckham rye is open
  2. I?m sure apology accepted. What did they actually do wrong?
  3. Unrealistic. More likely they were having an affair.....
  4. Totally agree with concerns. Please provide link to email of councillors if you have it to make it easier and more likely people will contact them
  5. People should boycott paper cups anyway and take their own. Usually a travel mug but no harm in taking a mug :-)
  6. yes - she had a lodger agreement
  7. well, he's gone now which is a good thing. There are always risks you take and you can vet anyone as much as you like but time shows what people are like. She now has a surgeon staying and it's fab!
  8. there is that, but the process has started now.
  9. sorry - actually, it's lodger my mum took in over lockdown. He wanted to move out early, she gave him more notice than she needed to, he wasn't happy with the dates and refused to move on time and got quite nasty. She charged him one extra day and now he's taking her to small claims court for ?30, which is a day plus cleaning (he said it was her responsibility). I thought I might get a different response if I said it was me on the difficult end. She could easily just give him the money but he's been threatening and quite spiteful, so we just wanted to see what other people thought.
  10. hahha - good point! might help me to explain it :-)
  11. thanks - I actually agree but just wanted to check.
  12. Hi My friend has been a lodger for the last few months and moved in on 26th May. My friend's contract was for 6 months but she asked to leave early due to COVID and the landlord gave her the two weeks notice and agreed. She was given notice to move out by 25th September and had paid monthly on 26th. She moved out on 26th and the landlord charged her for an extra day. She also charged ?12 for cleaning the landlord said she could have charged a full period of rent as she overstayed. Who is correct? My friend wants to claim the money as this was a deduction from her deposit. Thanks Angie
  13. I'm "getting at" the rules are not being adhered to by adults either. It's really a common gripe to be complaining about the teenagers and singling them out.
  14. who parents the irresponsible adults who are out? Every time I see a group of adults together - who clearly do NOT live together, I want to call the police or their parents. but at their age, they should certainly know better. They are not setting a good example to our young people.
  15. Knife crime. Has it fallen since isolation? I haven't heard as much since.
  16. Did you phone the police when there were people gathering the parks at the weekend? You grumpy sods.
  17. Are you not outraged by the East Dulwich families who still have nannies they share with other families? Literally not giving a toss about isolation rules. Get some perspective. Teenagers have no say about homelife. I know teenagers who are stuck with abusive adults.
  18. with foodbanks closing and people out of work - it's a sad state of affairs.
  19. You could just self isolate and stay home, or go to park without gates and totally minimise any risk to yourself
  20. Wear gloves. And shut the gate behind you please.
  21. It's a good reminder of a basic safety measure, easily forgotten.
  22. People are selfish and entitled. Watch how it changes over the coming weeks, when this sinks in. They are probably novices and can't manage to move sideways
  23. Routine is key and planning your day, otherwise it can feel frantic. Kids need routine, and so do you. Bake - and teach them about food Paint - give them something to do, rather than anything they want as well - eg "today we're going to paint our favourite toy and out it on our wall". Plant seeds (you can make heads out of socks and grow cress hair) Story time (read a chapter of a book a day, as a fixed time) Board games Teach them how to sew (you can make a cat out of triangles) Look on Home Schooling sites. Of course, you have to continue with the school work, check in with your school on what you need to cover. Also, look online for free curriculum exercises and make it fun (just doing it with them makes it more fun). Exercise - you have to get out if you can, or you could play on the wii, do press ups, star jumps, dancing in the kitchen, walking on your toes. Oh my - how could I forget - TALK TO THEM and listen to them. Inspire them with the art of conversation.
