  1. Always tip your hairdresser - they don't get paid much but make you feel fab! 10% ish. Never for a bad cut, but you would have already told them that, either verbally or by crying....

We should change our ballot papers to the usual suspects with the additional new box "EU". So, if no one feels like voting in one of the contenders (and who does?), then we have the option to vote for the EU. If nothing else, it might increase the skills/ talents of our wannabe MP/ PMs - which is currently embarrassing and shameful.

I think if this was a movie, rotten tomatoes would say it was a such a childish plotline, it would be given a RT rating of 0/10 (bad). Ian Fleming had good plots - this is just a shambles.
  4. I've just seen this posted on Herne Hill Mums facebook page. I've attached the photo the lady included on her post. If you do see this, do not assume the machine has got your card and call the bank immediately to tell them what has happened. Hi Mums & Dads, **BEWARE** Just wanted to share a cash point scam I just fell victim to in Herne Hill on Half Moon Lane. I managed to view everything that happened on CCTV... Two men fixed the cash machine so it swallowed my card saying ?service suspended customer tampering suspected ? so after a few attempts at getting my card back I walked off... (one of the men actually advised me to go and cancel it.) They then quickly extracted my card and went to Tesco cash point and took out all my money (having also probably recorded my pin). May have been a one off incident but thought I?d share incase they?ve found a good spot to operate in.
  5. The risk is that when it goes wrong - and not IF - people's safety / health/ lives are at risk. This is not a system that should have ANY capacity for going wrong.
  6. oh no. The School Fair was brilliant, so I hope this conman didn't put a dampner on it too much :-( I bought one of the wreaths and absolutely love it!
  7. So, you think the owner deserves squatters?
  8. Matthew - what charities do you "operate"? Don't we normally 'support' charities? and why is your focus spread across mulitple ones? I choose my charities carefully and this sounds rather...spreading yourself too thin, perhaps?
  9. but they still won't accept any responsibility - that's just as shocking. what a sad situation, poor little thing. Six years old and terrified in what is supposed to be a safe place.

I suppose it depends on how you look at it. May's deal is a bit hokey cokey

pretty much sums it up. I think she's pretending to Leave but is not driven to.

What on Earth makes you think May wants to leave the EU?
  13. sorry, but it is theft and there are alternatives available to stealing because you're hungry - when is it ever right?.
  14. Still
  15. I would suggest getting her an age appropriate flying toy. Open up her imagination and get her capable of flying first. Of course she's heard of drones but probably doesn't know what alternatives there are. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=remote+controlled+flying+toy&index=aps&tag=googhydr-21&ref=pd_sl_1wa8rmiea2_e&adgrpid=57901963903&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=294859420722&hvpos=1t1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4471935094287750844&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045888&hvtargid=kwd-470518989487 Father Christmas always knows best and if he gave every little child that wanted a car a real car, well, he makes toys - right!
  16. Some people may be motivated by hunger, but that alone does not make moral people steal. There are alternatives to theft, food banks being one. What you do see is opportunistic theft - people who see an opportunity to get something for free for their own financial gain, be it cost avoidance or resell. Police are not interested, security are interested to a point and shop staff are instructued to not interfere but they can use physical presence to deter (i.e. I can see you). Once off the premises, the thief is gone. When people don't have money, this is an easy option. At least it's not violent. The impact for most people is the costs being covered by higher prices. The sad fact is, it's a reflection of society where people just don't give a hoot. The poor security guard in Primark who people just watched and filmed and laughed. There is a sense of entitlement people have and - serious to god - shoplifting from Primark? FFS.
  17. I've been told by a friend who runs a shop that the police won't attend for theft
  18. they can pick and choose their work and are probably too busy to call you. I had a similar with a plumber - I had a couple who didn't turn up as they had taken on bigger work.
  19. I have a ply floor (18mm) laid across the joists and want to know how thick the engineered wood needs to be to be load bearing please thanks

well that's worrying - whether she's got a way of wiggling this through, or if there's more to it that we don't know about.....??? there's a protest today if anyone's near.

so, actually worse than before. no control and no input. are we really expecting the cabinet to pass this? surely it's just impossibly blind.

I find all of this confusing. Is May actually working pro-EU and the Border/ Backstop is actually a distraction? There is so little fact - and not enough detail about it to warrant all the big headlines about it. It would appear that we are leaving but nothing is changing? apart from a divorce settlement. Do we actually know?
  24. First World problems. Pretty pathetic.
