  1. very, droll, DF ;-)
  2. Is Paxman with May the same man that interviewed JC? The body language, the lack of interruption..... I think he was swapped.
  3. sorry.... "towns"? Talk about pretentious. It's literally up the road. Unless there is another reason for trying to distance the two? Perhaps in the town of ED, one expects everyting to be in one place, in a shops specifically just for that one thing. Cheese shop (tick), wine shop (tick), yoga outfits shop (tick) .... Imagine having to go to Town Peckham and have to be imaginitive.
  4. I love the arrogance that prevails - if they don't agree with then they're wrong
  5. well. unfortunately, it's a negative vote - ie strategic voting against who you most don't want to win. Personally, I;d like the green party to have more seats but in terms of the main parties, that vote would be lost and better used. Which is really pants.
  6. I'm looking forward to that!
  7. what exactly is the specialism of the company May's husband owns? Tax avoidance?
  8. one million young new voter registers this week.
  9. may be true Louisa, but Theresa May is a train crash
  10. Oh, I've just checked - it should be about the 3% strength, so the medicinal type. The strongest is for bleaching hair! I didn't mean that. It's never damaged anything I've used it on. School shirts mainly.
  11. you are kidding Rahrahrah? The press are on the side of the Tories so of course will say that Labour will be wiped out. This is in the ambition people (voters) will take Labour out of the equation and vote Lib Dems as a strategic vote to stop the Tories getting in...... only to find later that if they'd not been influenced by the press then they would have voted Labour and Labour would have won.
  12. hydrogen peroxide - works wonders. You can get it in the chemist for around ?2 a bottle. Get the strongest you can.
  13. Well, I have never heard of 'intelligence' being a mitigating factor for violence and drug abuse. If drugs affect someone so much that they pick up a knife and hurt someone, then personally i think it's extremely stupid to let it go so lightly. Her behaviour is extremely unsettling. Out of control. It's not at all like 'our university days' so fondly recollected as being messy. Not quite the same, unless you also became out of control and lost your temper to such an extent that you can relate to her actions mental state personally. I can't/ But I have seen someone become that crazy, it's actually scary. Psychologically, what is the make up of someone who chooses violence? There is definately something wrong with someone who makes the choices this woman has. And if anybody would like to confirm that drugs do not affect your mental health at all, in any way over the long term, then please cite your source. Otta...and no, I do not read the DM. I prefer books.
  14. Can we have our police back now please? Theresa May didn't think we needed them, but I kind of disagree with her. She's looking lamer by the day.
  15. while that is true, RD, the West have been meddling in the Middle East for a long time. Whatever the start of the chain of events, the consequences are that the ideologoy of hatred is poison...spreading and gaining power by conditioning - i.e people copying, influencing, corrupting other's minds.
  16. In answer to your question, Otta, drugs make people unstable. A surgeon would be expected to be stable and predictable. Her choices of taking drugs and getting into such a state she becomes extremely violent does not bode well. Her values are obviously shot. Hardly a reputable, reliable, respectable person.
  17. That says a lot!
  18. do you get the feeling that they didn't think this through?
  19. anything with stickers and animals - keep her mind in a happy place would they have colouring books and pens in Sainsbury's?
  20. really? what do you think that says about me? moot point, as I was not involved in making decisions about a drug addict with a propensity to uncontrolled violence having a future as a heart surgeon
  21. Personally, I wouldn't want a surgeon who had a history of drug addition anywhere near me. I would say it's a prime example of pretty white priviledge and that the judge probably fancied her
  22. you should buy the best mattress you can afford and a mattress protector. There are lots of websites explain the differences between them so you should have a good read. Memory foam - for instance - comes in different levels of resistance which indicate the level of support they provide - you would choose based on things like your weight and personal preferences of soft/ medium/ firm Coil sprung can be a false economy - as you would need to know about the types of coil used and how stable they are. You can get ones with attached layers of thin foam, which again aren't as good as they look because you can't turn the mattress and can only use one side of it (as well as not being able to replace the foam, which wears out quicker then the main part of the mattress. The best are pocket sprung, as the pockets are little tubes which keep the springs in place and therefore provide an even distribution of support (so you won't sink into the middle). Then you have to look at how many springs.... some have far too many and sell on the fact of number, which is not actually that relevant. More springs do not equal better quality - you also have to look at the types of springs. Then you get fabric - you need good quality upholstery and the fabric used is indicative of the quality of the mattress..... the more you spend, the better you get - but beware of the sellers making their mattresses look better than they really are. So, pocket sprung are best, foam are / can be good - stay away from open coil and the ones with the memory foam layer. Wow, didn't realize I'd picked up so much info when I bought mine!
  23. 50s? More Victorian era...
  24. uhm... well of course. Does that not go without saying? It's like game of chess - positioning pieces etc. The parties will do or say anything to get in, we know their end plan is the next four years.
  25. can you judge a man on what he eats?
