  1. I was against the closure of the East Dulwich delivery office, but once the closure occurred it was inevitable that the site would be sold for housing.
  2. Bus services have improved immensely in recent years. Buses can be tracked by GPS which avoids bunching. I remember I used to wait ages for a bus and three would come together. Doesn't happen so much now. Also the displays on most shops tell you when the next bus is due.
  3. Hi Rahrahrah In one of my posts that got deleted I said that it's been empty for many years (15+?). The owner started to put a loft conversion on it which can be seen better from the back. Before the work was finished it was abandoned and has been empty ever since. I suspect it will all need re-doing. I usually walk past it several times a day so am quite well acquainted with it!
  4. Hi all Some of the posts on this thread have disappeared. I walked past this house today. Scaffolding is now shoring up the front of the house and a small section of brickwork has been removed from the top of the front wall. Hopefully this is the start of major remedial work.
  5. Sympathies from me too. I hope you've had it treated as it looks painful. As others have said, that cycleway is dangerous for both cyclists and pedestrians. I hope something is done about it soon.
  6. I appreciate there is a shortage of housing, but building a few houses on this site and the one in Bassano Street is not going to make much difference. The garages are being used so lets keep them.
  7. The car has now been removed but there's an oily patch by the bollard.
  8. Goodrich school has a pond next to Dunstans Road. It may have come from there.
  9. They are open on Sundays from 11 to 3. Don't know how busy they are on Sundays though.
  10. There's already another thread about this, but yes totally agree that this junction needs a pedestrian phase on the traffic lights as a minimum.
  11. I've heard it called a Lebanese loop. There is usually a tiny camera nearby which captures your pin number. They can then retrieve your card and use it with your pin number. Glad you spotted it.
  12. It's now got a Dangerous Structure notice on it and a couple of barriers in front of it.
  13. This house has been empty for very many years. Someone did start to put a loft extension on it years ago and then abandoned it. It's gradually got worse ever since. Hope something can be done before it falls down.
  14. It's long overdue. There is currently no pedestrian phase on this crossing at all. Will definitely complete the questionnaire.
  15. It woke us up as well. I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up extra early and walked the dog before work.
  16. Hate to be pedantic but I think you mean East Dulwich Road, not Grove.
  17. More people might have attended if it had been held at the weekend rather than during the working week.
  18. Gosh. He travelled a long way. Glad you get him back safely.
  19. Assuming cost isn't a problem, I would get a cab. Using a bus when on crutches might not be very safe.
  20. Oh please, not another nail bar. We really don't need another one.
  21. Sorry this has happened to you. I passed by at about 8-45 and saw the devastation. I suggest you report it to the police on the non emergency number, especially if you have cctv as they may be able to link it in with other similar incidents.
