  1. Well, that's day one of my new Brendan-inspired healthy living diet. Can't swy ti;s had mucch effrckt werrly.......
  2. "neither of which can I find in the musical desert that is Victoria!!" couldn't agree more, MP - though quite why you have to go all the way to Australia to look for records is beyond me. Anyways, I'm currently absorbed my this new band I've just discovered: Elbow.
  3. Thank you postmodern. They certainly were.
  4. "I am loyal to Sopers because they always have the best quality kippers." Kippers to eye-candy, Louisa? That's an admirable combo.
  5. Thinking that England need to reassess the way they distribute their runs between Test Matches. A few less in this one and a few more in the last. Bit like going out and having a sherry on Friday night, then 20 pints of heavy on the Saturday.
  6. Me too: its like when you miss a few weeks of Corrie and don't know whether knob'ead Steve is chasing rough or smooth.

    New words

definately; Forumspeak version of word common in everyday use
  8. Could innocently mean that they want a place where they can discretely have a number two without anyone noticing. Maybe a place with doors on the cubicles.
  9. There have been a lot of new people rocking up at the drinks in the last couple of months which might seem to indicate an increasing interest in the forum in general. If the same is true online with more characters logging on and pitching into the threads then I guess the homogenous nature of the debate will dissipate. I'm just not able to keep up with all the debates at the moment, unable to read them let alone contribute. My level zero typing skills combined with a brain that operates at sloth pace means I cannot chip in like some of you without proper jobs (you know, ones where time spent working > time spent on break)
  10. All this because some stressed-out mum, suffering with lack of sleep* changed her darling's nappy in public. Jeesus, I'm shocked that so much bile has been poured on her. Maybe just a bad day at the office for her and she is just as shocked as any of those on here. Where is the empathy guys? I always think it a problem of the way the human mind is wired that if you ever witness someone do something bad, like smack a child, ,drop some litter etc, you automatically think they do it all the time.
  11. The problem has to do with generalisation pure and simple - nothing to do with prams/boobs/nappies/drivers etc. Its not what you say it's the way that you say it. Some posters have a penchant for headlines that would book them a place on the editorial team of any tabloid. Type the inflamatory line and click "post Message". Sit back and enjoy.

    a joke

A woman dropped dead in front of me in Tescos today. Felt sorry for her. She'd just bought a "bag for life"
  13. Stay home and travel the world with Google Earth
  14. And we're bloody top notch at Rugby - we beat Italy, you know. .... at least the cricket team scored more than the Rugby Team.
  15. Macro-ban always was just that said household cleaning fluid to me too until he/she posted on those threads about the war memorial and signed off his posts MacRoban!
  16. Monbiot is usually pretty sharp on political issues. Try his website, monbiot.com *Bob*, which one is your number?
  17. Bless them, dear old sainsburys home delivery simply cancelled my order for tonight, too late to get another delivery slot. It's fishfingers and beans on stale Cream Crackers washed down with out-of-date Nesquick for us until we can get to to shops. Cool.
  18. Emergency: Lost Posts. I can't find the little posts I keep making because, as BN5 ranted yesterday somewhere, there is a surplus of snow/snowman threads. Is it that the Administrator is taking another duvet day due to the fact that the snow is preventing her/him getting from the bedroom all the way to the laptop in the living room?
  19. is Honk just veering on the left side of cheeky? Glad I didn't Spoonerise that! Is Honky just veering on the left side of cheek might just get me in the mire.

    Snorky

Snorky is good, but i prefer Drooper, man.
  21. Absolutely agree that Hotel Rwanda is highly recommended. If you want a more uplifting/upbeat film for your list Kells, then "A Good Year" with Russell Crowe should fit the bill - perhaps a bit self-indulgent, but I could not stop smiling all the way through when I saw it.
  22. The business community will claim that it has been a bad day for business. If they first loose "billions" in the recession, I'd say it was bloody careless to now loose "billions" in the snow.
  23. Was out in snow today and took just two measly photos. Loved all the snowbods including snow dragon/dinosaur in Dulwich Park - Thanks for all the photos posted here. A real treat after a special day.
  24. Higher smugness rating if it had been New South Wales, danrees. ;-)
  25. My workplace shut. Been to Dulwich park with the bairns. Out by 9 back by 10.30. Everybody looking bemused and happy as they wandered around in the enchanted wonderland. Saw a snow-dragon and a mini snowbod. Made snow angels and threw snowballs as my sock came off inside my welly. And we saw an eagle!(ish). Now home with tea and toast. Nice idea guys but think I'll miss the drink in the Bish. Have a hot toddy on me.
