Grandad has decided he wants to give ?3,000 to each of his 4 grandchildren - but that he does not want them to spend it - but save it- they are all over 18. ( one grandson has probably spent his last windfall on a motorbike and grandad is not impressed). He thinks it is for when they buy a property or get married so we are talking 6-10 years at least. Any ideas where to put it? Cash Isa's are a bit too accessible- and really they lose money don't they? This may not seem much money to some people but to him it is a very big deal so any positive contributions welcome. I know there are some people who keep an eye on this, and my idea of buying premium bonds did go go down very well. Thank you all in advance .

I was wondering which schools/ colleges au pairs in Dulwich go to at the moment? I know in the past my au pairs found they were too late to join some classes.

I would like to add that its easier in some ways to leave little ones , its when they are teenagers that they need more parents " being around", and resent any kind of childcare.

The Stepford wives in Dulwich Park every morning with their little yappy dogs, they wear quilted long coats, and carry coffees as they go.They walk in a pack of 5-8. Their very existence is scary.

I urge you to apply for a Blue Badge from your council, it costs ?10. There is no limit as to how many the council can issue, it is meant for someone in your position. You do not have to be registered disabled, it means that if you drive to the supermarket you can park in one of hte bays closer to the shop, and if parking on the street there are some allocated parking spaces closer to the shops. I got one for my Dad who is 88 and it was one of the best things! he could not get in and out of a normal space because of his walking sticks . I bet, like him, you have paid in to the system all your life, and it is time fr society to give you the right to park more conveniently. You might be entitled to some type of Attendance Allowance too!! Pm if you want some help in the form- x
