  1. surely this is for your insurers to deal with?
  2. i have had this with a plum stone in my saniflow- not sure which of my teenagers was responsible but when our saniflow man comes to sort us out - he always takes great delight at showing us the offending item! oh the shame ......................
  3. Well I would rather have it than not have it that's for sure!! Occasionally parents go to several sources to seek assistance with school fees, such as charities ( for various reasons). If 4 of them give ?3K scholarships each them that would be a tremendous help. Also I think it is every year - so ?3k x 7 years= ?21k
  4. Its sometimes better to go the jam / freezing route. The results are more reliable. Although Quince vodka is very easy to make!
  5. Charter, St Olaves, Graveney? Depends where you live to an extent.
  6. maybe its against the terms of your current mortgage to let out the property?
  7. I seem to have quite a few scart cables hidden in drawers. I no longer have a VCR or an old style tv. CAn any of you techies out there please let me know will I ever need them again for anything and if so what? If not are they recyclable/anyone else want them? Thanks
  8. In state schools at least, there is little homework besides reading and maybe spellings in year 1. HOWEVER that does not mean you cant do for example times tables with her.
  9. I did get the Menier tickets reduced by a Time Out offer, and I am very happy with that- in fact maybe its better to do it that way, so people that are already engaged and trying to source cheaper tickets explore/ sign up to everything they can. However Bellenden Belle and others have pointed out some great venues. It would be nice to have a thread running on this subject.
  10. If it was council organised there was no consultation or warnings, which there were when Guernsey grove did a play scheme. Complete chaos.I think it was a spur of the moment thing.
  11. can you squeeze an au apair in to your house? might be the best?
  12. YOu have never gone out apart from for work? She is 3.5? For the sake of your marriage and your own sanity you MUST go out more (IMO) so that she realises you have a life too. CAn you do something like swap babysitting with a friend with a similar age child- maybe from NCT or other classes- or someone you know from nursery? If you can afford it, get someone who is not family to babysit once every 2 weeks or so.
  13. Wow BB! That's a lot of theatre!! I am talking older teenagers- but you are right- the younger you start the better!
  14. I ALWAYS do -1471 and write the number down. If I don't recognize it I google it- ( sad aren't I ?)- but it works ( no PPI claims here!)
  15. there is always a charge for pressing 3 and call back service-if that helps?
  16. I have just bought Menier chocolate factory tickets from Time out offer for a third off- I guess you just have to search a long time in advance and you might get lucky :)
  17. Under the terms of the lease of your flat( presume it is the landlord) there will be rules and regulations, and there should be similar ones for her flat. you need to contact your landlord- via the agent if necessary and get them to contact the freeholder to complain. there will ( or ahould)be rules like- maintain the garden, carpet the floors . YOur land lords lease will also show what rights of access there are to the garden via your garden/ side access etc.
  18. oh crikey- yes it will be cocktails and beer. Bless.
  19. I could not help but notice Jamie's vino rosso and vino bianco in Tesco today. What next?
  20. I did - they said demand was so high they could only give concessions to oaps and gave it to them instead of students / children. ?120 for a family of 4 - ain't going to happen. The National and young/old vic are much better at this.
  21. If in doubt always pull the religion card- Cleggers!
  22. Maybe I am biased and maybe it depends on the genre of the theatre. I am just a little disappointed at the Chocolate Factory.
  23. I don't think there is anything to stop oaps working. My former director, on his earnings of ?300,000, used to use his free travel card whenever he went on public transport. I think its important to encourage young people to go to the theatre. Not all schools do trips to the theatre.
  24. I think its a bit mean when a theatre ( not a West End one)offers concession tickets for oaps but not students/ children. What do you think?
