  1. Finding ?50 I has hidden in my wellies- for safety last winter.
  2. where did it all go wrong for Greek culture/civilisation? Vases, poetry, plays-studied and admired and then this Giorgos Alkaios & Friends.
  3. YOU absolutely must see the lease of the other flat and check there are no clauses that are onerous to you as a freeholder. You don't know if it says that the freeholder has to do all external repairs it is not a given. your solicitor can get you a copy of the other lease. you might find the lease has less than 80 years left and therefore you might even be able to sell the other leaseholder a lease extension/share of freehold in due course. You do have responsibilities as a freeholder and you must get advise at the offset to make sure you are not being negligent ( but a freehold is generally a good thing).
  4. i think at the front or above the back wheel are classless and timeless- but the ones lower down especially at the back are dangerous but pretty safe in dulwich park - not to round busy roads with.
  5. check out au pair world web site OR ABC AU PAIRS BASED IN SE22 for guidelines.
  6. I wonder what do school staff do on these days?
  7. yes there is a honeymoon period- but then when they are older and go out and you go to bed and lie there waiting to hear them come home at midnight ( or later).;-)

  9. Cash Converters are good too - one in Croydon and I think Camberwell/Peckham if the bike is not registered as stolen then they will sell it. A previous thread mentioned brixton police station.
  10. After the Hustings last night I think Jonathan Mitchell annoyed everyone I spoke to, as he rambles a bit.The forum would be good for him as he would have to be brief and to the point. Bring him on and I hope he can redeem himself as he came across a being a bit arrogant.
  11. Believe me there are people walking around your gardens every night- watching what bikes you have- just coming up and trying door handles. If you know this I know it is a little paranoid but it is pretty true. The one night you have a few drinks/ get distracted and don't lock up is the night the bike goes.
  12. Are you getting confused with "big eejit" (big idiot)sounds a bit like bigot. I have never heard a scot say bigot affectionately.
  13. Never referred to even-although questions had to be written down in advance and handed in- may be they were all screened out.??
  14. We went and it was very good. Tessa put on a good show, and I thought the Conservative woman had a certain personal appeal - having worked her way through school/ degrees via macdonalds. I am afraid the Liberal candidate would have put a lot of people off due to slight ramblings and going over time. The Green candidate had some thought provoking points too -especially on health issues. What did everyone else think?
  15. blowing bubbles are really good- the ones with washing up liquid - then they can pop them. and swimming can tire them out a bit!!

  17. my partner always checks the toilet to see if has been cleaned!!!
  18. oh dulwich mum I wish you had not shared that bit about trying on shoes etc. I may have to go for therapy now!!
  19. We have had 3 nannies, all lovely girls, and when one left they kind of passed up to their friends who were nannies who our children knew already. did the same sort of one o clock clubs etc. a good nanny is like gold dust- you do have to trust them though-they hate to feel snooped on. works both ways. Good luck.
  20. why dont refugees stop at france and keep on trucking to get here??
  21. i have done the mobile phone search so many times now!!madness.
  22. i think this is very excusable if you are pregnant. are you?
  23. you have to dance to that dulwich mum- ala Billy Elliot
  24. i always have a swiss army per knife- and have taken it to wimbledon several times by mistake- a real pain if they find it as you have to hand it in and go and reclaim it at the end of the day.
