  1. Cole (J), Carrick, Johnson(G), Lampard, Ferdinands R and A. I'm sure there's lots more.
  2. You're going to get to two species of mole quite quickly, aren't you? One set will have adapted to living on five pence pieces, raisins and fragments of human skin. And the other will have specialised to living inside a hoover.
  3. Steady, Princess. In think KKel is saying that although some may find Fry pompous (as TwoCharlies posted), KKel met a really pompous bloke of European origin recently, and therefore Fry is OK by her. Am I right, or a meringue, KKel?
  4. I'm sure I'm missing something KKel, but what is the relevance of the yukky man from the EU? Moos, I would be happy to admit that, given the gallery of ghouls that raised the poor lad, Charles is not the horror he could have become. And he has chosen some admirable causes to patronise, although I'm not sure that architecture and planning owe him much, and he seems a poor and prissy employer, and his sons remarkably uncurious about the world that forms their oyster. Anyway, apart from that, the marriage stuff, his social conservatism, and the inflated view of his own intellect, he's OK, I reckon.
  5. 177. The Thamesmead Flyer.
  6. *finds ambitious aristocratic virgin* *gets uncle Louis to check her out* *falls in love, whatever that means* *considers sincerity and principles*

    Busy mums

You're certainly a busy mum, Bounty.
  8. What's not to like? He gives airtime on QI to, and appears to be amused by, Phil Jupitus. Minus 50 points, Stephen.
  9. What's not to like? He's top friends with Prince Charles - that's homeopathy fan and vague new-ager Prince Charles. Minus Dix Points for hypocrisy, Stephen.
  10. Mine too. Can't stand markets, mind. The covered one can close as well, and take its miniature frog sculptures, hessian shoes and astrological maps with it. Oh the misery of an unsatisfactory shuffle round the market followed by a disappointing meal in a local cafe. In fact, the whole of Greenwich can piss off too. Not weel done, Cutty Sark.
  11. northlondoner, good point about our Roman brethren. It seems to me the Italians might have paid a little visit to the person that compiled the list, if you know what I'm saying.
  12. Alleyn's opened a new toilet block, I think. Fireworks were brought forward after recent complaints.
  13. Depends on their majority. It'll probably be a v large one, but if by some chance it's a hung parliament then this is surely going to be one of the LibDems' main terms of business. David Davies isn't too keen either - is he completely out of the loop now?
  14. Jura, the answers to your questions are: Yes No No - they haven't even started yet. No - it doesn't get very busy
  15. I'm a bit disappointed in the French, to be honest. ?1.5 million behind the Germans is just lazy. Solid effort from the Poles, though. They're a decent bet for the play off places these days.
  16. It wasn't the SMBS folks, no. It was these guys: http://mybayberry.co.uk/default.aspx And nice as they were, they really didn't know what they were doing. The carpet shop was only ever a punt - they've got a warehouse elsewhere and just had a go at a retail outlet, quickly realised it wasn't going to go anywhere and cut their losses.
  17. Here's the page. To save it being pasted in here word by word. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alleyn's_School Jay Kay and Jack Penate, I see.
  18. All Vince all the time. If he was leader he'd be worth 5 points in the polls to the Lib Dems. Clegg, though, is a void. Trying to keep the tribalism and "remember what they were like last time" out of it, I'm not sure the New Tories have made any sort of case for what they are about this time around. Their biggest policy success has been the inheritance tax, which was a smart piece of politicking, playing to people's inflated sense of personal worth at the height of the property bubble. And hardly evidence of a new conservatism. Apart from that, it's all mood music.
  19. A searchlight strafes the sky over Peckham Rye Park. The citizens below can make out the letters ... AFN. Somewhere in Nunhead a browser is launched.
  20. I think it's been blanded out a bit internally, has it not, from its orange'n'blue heyday? Certainly to the left as you go in, on the kitchen side, looks different to me.
  21. I think your work ensuring the people of the EDF see as many bands as possible is as valid a response as any to this trauma. That and the shoe thing, of course. Ahh Kinnock, I see him trying to savour his younger, more favoured successor's victory, straining for the right mood, like an ageing centre forward left on the bench for the cup final, after having ground out results in the early rounds. But he goes home after the party, checks the hairline in the mirror, the downturn of his purpling lips, and realises this is all he'll ever be. Yes I had forgotten him, and that is his fate.
  22. Don't know what it would take to get me in there but it hasn't happened yet. Peter Mandelson at a corner table, a map of East Dulwich in his hand and a beckoning grin? A 1960s Petula Clark working the pumps, looking for a song writer to make her famous? A free brusary to the local Posh School for mini-Bob with every order over ?10?
  23. Ah, May 1997. So heady was the aroma, even the sight of John Prescott (even Robin Cook, or does my memory deceive) jigging away to D:Ream become something forgiveable. Like your long-widowed uncle finally throwing off the shackles and jiving with the prettiest bridesmaid at the wedding. How bleak the winds now, how inevitable that the bridesmaid is but a haggard crone, and the uncle doing time for embezzlement. No, I couldn't live with it. What recompense do you offer society?
  24. Well, in 1997 that choice would place you somewhere in the bottom 43.2% for dumbness. That's not too bad. Only just over half the country had more political smarts than you. You can probably live with that. I know I have had to. EDIT: This is in answer to Giggsy, not Bobby.
