  6. It... Is a great joy being a parent ( my boys are 5 & 9 ) however, it's also a fairly daunting prospect that we have the responsibility to give our children useful skills & emotional ammunition, so as to thrive as well balanced, useful adults in the future Our children are in the main a reflection of our sum parts. As parents, the real work starts with us first. It is our responsibility to have an emotional audit all of our own . Consider which of our quirks & nuances we really want to pass on to our children & seek help with those that we can't shift all by ourselves. After all picking noses at the dinner table in your family & during your childhood may have been okay, your current partner may also have chosen to ignore it too however, when we see our beautiful child sitting as a guest at a Birthday party, finger up their nose again & without a care in the world, we are horrified but know who to blame ( don't we ? ) An MOT of our inter-personal relationship doesn't hurt & I've rarely come across anyone who regretted seeking some qualified guidance It takes team work to make a family function smoothly,a set of agreed tenants & rules regarding behavior. Discipline & general congeniality all go toward a happy house & a benign atmosphere " Live in China , speak Chinese " is apt & though our children have characters all of their own, it's not until we see them reflecting our behavior that we stop in out tracks. Good or bad , generally it is mostly down to us. Though the bright child may make the observations all the more pertinent. W**F ( This Philip Larkin poem "This be the verse" sums it up http://www.artofeurope.com/larkin/lar2.htm )
  7. And.... For boys ? ( well we're here so why not ) When my boys are in the bath, the order is... "Nuts & Butts" "Pits & bits" It goes down a treat W**F

  16. Question 1 - Fathers day in my house is like ???? said, homemade cards ect. I like a decent coffee , smoked salmon & scrambled eggs. A trip to I-max on a dull day or a picnic in Sydenham woods ( we put up our tree swing )Random treat would be riding the water flumes with my boys....ahh love it Question 2 - Trying to keep a sense of your own identity. It gets easier as the kids get older though & the tiredness dissipates, or you just learn to stay healthy & fit as possible.. Oh..& less booze is best for good Karma Take up Bikram Yoga for some inner strength & peace ( god I never thought I"d say that but...) Question 3 - I am the generally "Seargent" parent but MrsW**F is pretty good at making the peace (though I do rescue them from her wrath ), it's a house with 3 boys boys to 1 girl ratio, so it's my job to show the boys how you treat girls nicely & with respect. Maintaining a level of collective calm with a set of generalfirm/fair rules to go by Been there , done that re.. wee, poo, vomit etc.....oh whoops....sorry!!! W:):)F

It's easy to make a very light frame from 20x20mm wood ( Jewsons ) I then stretch and stapled black material to it ( from fabric shop in rye lane ) I made a couple of these for about ?15 the pair They fitted just snugly inside the beading of each window It works a treat Sleeep baby sleeeeeeeep W**F
