  1. I assume PGC this was after Saturday lunchtime old firm victory? - I think you will now find Celtic are already back in their rightful place at top of the SPL. Of course I owe you a double scotch though. Although Hibs might shock Gers tomorrow night. Saw the first half Saturday - to be honest I don't think either team is up to much and if this means Strachan will move on I for one will not be too disappointed, Celtic need to be more direct in their football, always seek to entertain, not to bore.
  2. Must be Celtic - we have beaten everyone, everywhere.
  3. afn. I think you said 3000 per year plus joining fee. Its 1200 per year plus joining fee. Sorry to be picky.
  4. Its a lot of money in anyone's view but the joining fee (apart from to raise some much needed cash) is to ensure people join for the long term, they don't want a transient membership where people join for a year and then leave. All decent clubs have joining fees but having said that a lot of lesser clubs are dropping these in the current climate and there will be much cheaper places to join if its just to try club membership for the first time. Club membership has a lot of benefits but you need to be keen to make it worthwhile. To pay and play at ?35 per round is a much cheaper option for the occaisional golfer. Have no idea what Aquarius charges, but think it is only a 9 hole.
  5. Sean - turned away - did they give a reason? that's very strange.
  6. Sherwick - this morning they seemed to be particularly packed. I agree they seem to be full by the time they get past the Heber Road stop. The No 40 starts at the Plough and does not full up for a few stops so walk back that way to a stop or if closer it may be an idea to walk to the stop outside ED station where quite a few get off. But I agree - not enough space generally. ED is not good for public transport - one of the downsides of living here I'm afraid.
  7. I dont know where you get your information from afn. its actually ?1166 per year.
  8. Are you sure she did not say she was going to "the Bedford". Its a pub in Balham - you might find her there, drunk.
  9. I'm a member there and I would not say its particularly snooty as golf clubs go - there are a mix of different types of people - a lot of the members don't live in Dulwich, they are from all over South East London. Most members are over 50 but there are plently of young golfers around as Dulwich school kids play for free. The fees of ?35 for a game without a member is very reasonable for London and its a reasonable course although a little on the short side. The greens are small and are slick in summer. They have made improvements to the course over the winter. I'd recommend it as good value for ?35. The clubhouse is in need of an upgrade and they are considering this currently in which case the fees will probably go up further when they ultimatley get around to it.
  10. I do advocate late night study - its when there are least distractions - even if it means you take a lie in in the morning to recover as its important that you still get enough sleep - I work better at night. But with only a few days to go stress can do you in, so I agree with all those who said take an evening or at least a few hours off - do what you like to do best - cinema, a run, a couple of beers. Reward yourself with this and come back with a new lease of life. No matter how much you know - its always important that the right questions come up - so good luck.
  11. Not plucking - but barbers do trim them for me.
  12. I have to agree - ED is not really in the beautiful catagory - busy and trendy perhaps but not beautiful. Its close to nice parks, Dulwich and Peckham but I guess it does not have much beautiful of its own, but there is nothing wrong with been a buzzing little area, surrounded by beauty.
  13. Very good Anna - I like that and I agree re Drogba - he's the boy who cried wolf once too often.
  14. Yes it did in the after show Sue. They were quite in love - or he was anyway.
  15. I hate to say it has come to this but I guess we have to give in easily to these muggers - If they carry knives then material possessions are not worth the risk of losing your life. I know however if you are taken by surprise its incredibly difficult to think clearly in such frightening circumstances but I guess we should all be aware and not for example listen to music on the way home late at night, we should do all we can to stay vigilant. Also sticking to main roads as much as possible on way home might help. I had not heard about the earlier muggings so it seems these are more common place. I think its actually a sign of people realising there are some well off people living in ED and hoping to take advantage. Clapham has had this problem for some years. My thoughts are with this latest victim.
  16. I was shagging my girlfriend in Oxford once, by the river, when someone stole my punt.....Not nice.
  17. ok pgc. A double on the old firm game. And you have home advantage so you should win. Ill be playing golf so will miss the game but a draw would suit celtic nicely.
  18. matt 123. Celtic park is never going to be as good when liverpool are there. Too many scoure accents singing our song.

  20. By the way - the big game is on Saturday - the SPL championship decider - Rangers V Celtic - I'll be in Ireland so won't be able to post - but hope we can swing it. If we win surely title no.4 is ours !!!
  21. Celtic don't claim to have sung YNWA first but just to sing it better (and of that there is no doubt....).
  22. The European Final needs an international flavour and for that reason I'm supporting Barca tonight.
  23. many pots of silver polish for sale. Contact A Wenger.
  24. To be honest Will there are not that many good bars in EDT imo despite the appearance of the "strip". I like the Gowlett, the Bishop and am even coming round to the Magnolia (for a v quiet beer). Is foxy not a name attributed to a lady rather than a bloke?
