He has now got to ?30,000, lots of local donations so that is great to see! Every pound helps as Sol says :)

JoJo Maman Bebe are also kindly selling Team Xavier wristbands... he is moving into a house this week, as he will need to use stairs for the physio after his operation. Please keep on giving you generous souls, imagine if it were your little boy, so touching that everyone is contributing x
  3. Sounds like great fun, yes I believe they are planning them on a regular basis :)
  4. I put my son down on the waiting list when he was around 1 yr old, then when he was 2.5 yrs old my friend responded to an ad they had placed and got a place STRAIGHT AWAY... the whole thing is a joke. same with little jungle. they all seem disorganised and tho I accept it is a nightmare task for nurseries I think it's crazy we all have to wait 2 yrs to get place and then find out there isn't really always a logic to the places offered. I got my son in at Bright Horizons after 3-4 months waiting and it is excellent, cdnt wish for anywhere better.
  5. I agree it's pricey but a lovely shop :) I generally get smaller toys here or things I want very soon - usually present shopping in a hurry! Not everything costs more so you generally have to just take care, e.g. a fab paddling pool last summer was ?8 (they had a bigger better version but I thought that was a bargain and on a par with somewhere like Argos or Toys R Us).
  6. (525 people have read this, I wonder how many donated!)
  7. Thanks everyone :) what a lovely community we have here, I am so glad got a positive response... Xavier is planning his op in the next few months so the more we can all do the better! Balance for life personal training is going to hold a sponsored event soon, as are the bar staff at The Palmerston. There is also a collections box at the East Dulwich Dry Cleaners on Lordship Lane (by the post office). East Dulwich Nanny Agency raised ?135 at their Chinese NY event a few weeks ago and Father Gerry at the St Thomas More church by the library gave me a further donation today. Great to see everyone supporting Xavier and change his life for the better!!
  8. Thoughts?? Lovely local boy needs a vital operation that will change his life, surely we could all do a little bit and dip our hands in our pockets? Let's keep the goodwill started by the Great Exhibition (random acts of kindness last week) going Dulwich! :)
  9. Check out the East Dulwich Mummy website for things to do - for some reason not allowed to copy and paste link but it comes up if you Google :)
  10. Lovely friend of mine is running the London Marathon (having gone from a once a week at the gym gal to training nightly!)... Money raised will go to Age UK, which helps the elderly and vulnerable both in the UK and overseas (e.g. West Africa) and YouthNet, which helps young people find work and offers advice generally. Please give what you can: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=ZeenaSaleh Many thanks generous people x
  11. Sylvia and Inay are based near Ondine Rd, close to ED station / Bellenden Rd and Peckham BR station. They have looked after my son since he was 8 months old (now 2 and a bit and left to move to nursery). I cannot recommend them highly enough, they are sisters and look after between 3-6 children on any one day. It is like a home from home, I trust them completely and every day it is like stepping into a Blue Peter set with all the activities they organise and games they play. They are like aunties to my little boy, who has never minded leaving me and has fun from the minute he arrives there each day. They go out daily no matter what the weather (unless it is dire) which ensures the children get fresh air and exercise. They use a flat that has been fully converted (every room contains toys, games, everything kitted out for children, even the hall space!) and they have a fairly large garden. They have a couple of people on the waiting list but still worth a ring. 07793 491 111 Sylvia

  16. Try Sitters if locals don't work out x
  17. My little boy still often clings to me when I leave him - if you imagine what a rush mornings must seem to a 2 yr old not really surprising but can fully empathise with it tugging at your heart strings. My son is definitely fine during the day and when I pick him up sometimes dsnt want to leave! Don't worry she will settle eventually, it's just a full on day, lots of kids and takes some getting used to - I guess like adults changing jobs, stressful but eventually fine and you feel like you have done it years after a few months! :)
  18. To buy tickets go to http://www.wegottickets.com/event/206613
