  1. I found it eased after seeing a chiropractor, but mine has been a problem for years, not caused by childbirth. I find if I sit on soft chairs or beanbags it gets bad so try to sit on firmish seats. It's awful and you have my full sympathy x
  2. Great thanks, I guess the answer to both questions is that it depends on the woman!
  3. Just wondering if anyone knows how many times a day one needs to breastfeed in order to have lowered levels of oestrogen? Is lowered oestrogen something that lasts say for two hours after a feed? (for example) If a breastfeeding mother needed to increase her levels of oestrogen (not to conceive) but didn't want to give up breastfeeding completely would this be possible? Or would she need to give up completely?
  4. Ma is white Whero is red Kakariki green.... ;-)
  5. Don't assume that those close to you will know that you need help and/or will know how they can best help you. Tell people if you need support. Let your partner help wherever possible. Write stuff down as it happens because you will forget little things.
  6. I think it was 430m last year
  7. I have heard about the window of opportunity... Too late though and missed it. Things are going very slowly with potty training but I figure he won't wee on the bed forever! While playing that is, wears a nappy at night. The same lady told me that girls respond well to the offer of pretty new knickers as a reward, Don't know if you think that would work?
  8. I have the opposite problem, poo in the toilet? No problem. Wee? Wherever he happens to be. Driving me insane! Sigh. Nothing constructive sorry but I feel your pain. Now where did I put my sense of humour...?
  9. Hi Chantelle, we are also between the two schools, and lucky to be from the sounds of things. I dug around and have also heard pretty positive things about both, just not sure which to put in front of the other... :0)
  10. Does anyone have children at schools near Honor oak park? Thinking Dalmain and Stillness mainly but any others too. I am thinking through the schools to apply for and was wondering if anyone can give any opinions? Thanks a lot Helen I realise this is slightly out of area but as there are a few people in surrounding suburbs using the forum I hope you don't mind me asking..
  11. Unde one I would be careful but don't think you would need to worry about a two year old...?
  12. Merry Christmas everybody!
  13. Is it just the stocking that they get from Santa? Or a big present as well? We used to hang a pillow case at the end of our bed and mum and dad would put the presents in there. What do you generally put in stockings?? Am a bit clueless as we did things differently in NZ- don't remember hanging stockings- and as the kids are growing up would like to be in line with local traditions.. To some extent anyway ;0)
  14. The v2 does have phil & teds written down the side rather than vibe, and the plastic is raised around the brake button on the handle to stop you from accidentally pushing it. Other than that I'm not sure how you can tell just by looking!
  15. :))Ruth, the youngest also stuffs them in her mouth, they can't taste nice so don't know what's up with that!
  16. My two like baby wipes, the youngest pulls them out in a frenzy if I let her and the oldest holds a couple in each hand and runs around shouting'i'm batman'
  17. Muppet thanks for that, I think it does really help to remember that the time they are young passes do quickly, I try remember this in the darkest minutes! Though my paranoia has convinced me they already think I'm mean embarrassing and a terrible mother! They just haven't mastered superlatives yet... I am trying to just enjoy the good bits and brush over the bad, get out a lot and fantasise about winning euro millions so I can get a nanny, a dishwasher and a tumble drier, plus people to operate them! (plus a new kitchen to accommodate..)
  18. Call southwark as soon as you can to find out what is involved, it can take a few months so it depends when you would be moving, but probably is a good idea to take advantage of living in southwark and all the free training provided as it isnt the same everywhere. After you move you will just need to call ofsted to let them know, they'll send you a form to fill in and may or may not come to inspect the new property.
  19. I did the DIY shops last time I needed the same piece and they couldn't help, though I did find one at motor tech then, alas no such luck this time. I have emailed cosatto so fingers crossed, will probably do as you say anyway tiddles, thanks :)
  20. Great, thanks!
  21. We have a very old cot with this bit which is embedded in the sides. I can't seem to find any, have no idea where the cot is from and we need three of these! Does anyone know the name of this piece and/or where I could get them? I've searched online and not come up with much. Thanks!
  22. My pram's aluminium frame needs welding, anyone know someone around here who does this?
  23. Don't worry about it, in no time at all he'll be plastering your walls happily with your lovely purees!
  24. http://www.primaryict.org.uk/book_resources/ch3/Statutory_framework_for_the_early_years.pdf Page 44 onwards lists what a child is expected to be able to do by the end of the eyfs, which I think is the end of the academic year in which they turn 5, I guess end of reception year. https://www.education.gov.uk/publications/eOrderingDownload/eyfs_practiceguid_0026608.pdf There's a table from page 43 here which is grouped by age
  25. I'm sure some childminders will have space, especially if they have term time only contracts with parents? Otherwise check with the school, I'm sure they will know of holiday programmes running locally.
