Another good place is the Docklands Museum, has a good children's area and you can get the DLR from Lewisham which is good fun in itself.
  2. There are other hotels in Sharm and Hurghada with children's cl;ubs, I'm sure. but prob more expensive

  4. Booked Hotel direct via holidaynights.co.uk, separate flights and then just took a taxi from the airport. Hotel IBEROTEL GRAND SHARM would be about ?850 all inclusive in Oct but only ?500 in November. Flights were about ?300 pp last year, under 2s are free... i shopped around, think we got a seat for our 6 yo at 2/3 price in the end. Can vouch for the hotel, and great snorkelling right by (dive school on site)
  5. Have bene on all inclusive to Egypt a few times. No kids club, but lovely weather in October and cheaper than MW I'd guess.

  7. ther eis light at the end of the tunnel. After being so stubborn and fussy from ages 2-5, son no 1 has recently started to try new stuff and recently ate sauce on his pasta for the first time ever, hallelujah! Only pesto, but still!! He always ate a balanced diet, as he's good with fruit and veg, but stoutly refused to taste anything new.
  8. Barcelona is good, but I do find it a bit pricey for the size of portions. I like being able to order a variety of things for children to nibble at.
  9. Want to exchange mobiles now? We'll need a contingency if it's bad weather.. in the museum, I guess

I think she means she would never criticise a particular individual mother for their approach... as opposed to saying that a certain approach makes her sad.
  12. Any good ideas to share, in case others have missed them? My top 5: Rotherhithe City Farm (free, easy to park, great for U8s) Gambados softplay, Beckenham (expensive, but lots to do inc dodgems and carousel) Godstone Farm (great day out) Sydenham Wells park, with the water fountains Swimming lessons for pre-schoolers at Dolphin Swim School, Mitcham (dedicated parking, baby friendly changing room, play area and lots of highchairs)
  13. We always end up at Hisar (good value, fairly healthy and quiet at 6pm.. plus space for the double buggy) Where do other people like to eat out? (ours are 6 and 2x 15m)
  14. Is his dad there on a Saturday, but no the other days?
  15. Reminder re meeting 10am Tuesday Sandpit. Though both of my babies have been ill over the weekend, hope they're better.

  17. Apart from it being constipating, nothing wrong with having bananaa every day. To increase her weight, how about protein... allergies allowing, things like Scrambled egg Omelette Frittata Other fruit eg Satsumas Strawberries Diff types of bread eg Croissants Crumpets Muffins Toast
  18. Although if you'd like your child to go to a nursery at 2/2.5, eg Buds, Puddleduck, then it IS worth putting your name down early.
  19. For state schools, they start nursery at 3 and school at 4, apply about a year before.
  20. I hate to break the news.. but you'll be lucky to get a place at any ED school... just put your name down for the closest and fingers crossed. All ed schools are fine.

I just love Jacks, the tarts, the salads, the juice, the cakes, the friendly atmosphere, the tiny garden, the toys.. and it's good value. oops. Maybe I should say it's horrid, don't go there!!
  22. Where's Fi? The usual staff are friendly, but it's true sometimes I see an unfamiliar face and then I miss the ones i know.
  23. There is a quite a margin for error on the scans. I had fortnightly ones with the twins and sometimes they relaly struggled to get measurements at all. On the Weds they said one baby was 6lb 12, and the other 4lb 4... they were born on the Friday night, they were 6lb 4 and 5lb 5. Quite a big difference.
  24. Bread of life cafe is nice, very spacious and good home cooked food. Lovely puddings with custard.
