  10. Some might say if people don't know what they mean then they shouldn't really be driving, this is basic driving test stuff.
  11. But what about the forks, the forks?! "The food at Victoria Inn is cooked well and diners tackle it with enormous forks, Ted reveals" OK, as you were.

  14. It's an arms race innit? Personally I can't stand being behind one on the road as I can't see around / over it as much as a "normal" car. Solution - my next car will probably be an SUV. For others it's perceived safety - "If I get hit by one I'll be worse off, so my next car will be..." You get the picture.
  15. How did this thread not include Bela Lugosi's Dead?
  16. Ironic that someone called Grok doesn't quite get it.

  22. We need to separate commuting by bike from fitness. As long as people see it as exercise they'll want to improve, get faster and better, and that leads to competitiveness, and that leads to conflict. Think of it as just a commuting option and we're good.
  23. As a kid if there was no cake in the house I'd have a spoonful of porridge oats, immediately followed by a few raisins & sultanas and wash it down with milk, convincing myself this was essentially the same thing. These days I could call it "deconstructed" I guess.
  24. When making beans on toast I always leave a few beans in the tin and eat them cold while those in the pan are heating up.
