The Met Special Escort Group are experts in this, just using a few bikes to progressively block junctions for as short a period as possible along the VIP route. They're the ones with the whistles. They might not block roads for long, but they do block them.

Apparently you're not the only one struggling to find a solution to Christmas Light issues Sue - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/christmas/11978318/Tesco-is-hiring-a-Christmas-light-detangler.html

I have been known to wear St Pauli gear to Hamlet games. Is that hipster squared, or just 2/6?

OK let's see what we make of this - Guardian Joy of Six Hipsters' Favourite Football Clubs. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/nov/06/the-joy-of-six-hipsters-favourite-football-clubs Guess who's in at number six? I think Barry's last sentence is apposite - it's just about enjoying the football.. "Small wonder, then, that many of the monotonously predictable and sneery comments that appeared below a recent Observer feature on the club (yes, of course there?s been a Observer feature on the club) dismissed all concerned as a shower of bandwagon-jumping ?hipster wankers?. It seems such is the price one must pay these days for the very heinous crime of enjoying yourself and having a good time at the football."

As Siduhe said is was the opaque film I initially asked about, although happy to let the thread run as the other sort is obviously useful to some! Thanks for all the responses.

Hi Can any one recommend (or where appropriate put me off) a supplier / brand of window film please based on personal experience? I'm just doing the little window over the front door initially. thanks

Depending how far up Lordship Lane you are Forest Hill becomes an option, which then gives Overground choices depending where you need to get to in the City.

ruffers replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Might be easier just to ring the council in the morning? 020 7525 5000. pipsky2008 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi James > > Please tell me to whom I should report a possible > fraudulent use of a disabled parking badge. > > I have asked a parking attendant who said they did > not have the authority to inspect the badge and so > could not verify if the user was the authorised > holder. -
Listeners to the Guardian's excellent Football Weekly podcast yesterday will have heard the Hamlet get a mention around the 39.30 mark in relation to Non League Day. Warning - contains "hipster" reference from Barry Glendenning. edit - I tried to include a link but the forum software wouldn't let me for some reason..

James, will there be a meeting to review this project to work out just why it took so long and how much it ended up costing? thanks -
Bin men marking wheelies with door numbers
ruffers replied to Callie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sounds good to me, I've spent too much time trying to find my bins after they've put them back seemingly at random in the past. -
Doctor who - the witches familiar - questions
ruffers replied to TheArtfulDogger's topic in The Lounge
Beign slightly pedantic, but relevant, the title was The Witch's Familiar, not witches. Presumably Missy is the witch... in which case will Clara become her familiar? -
Need transport to move basic stuff

Or there are man and van services offered on here, just do a search. -
Regarding the prospects of a pre existing club premises being shut down by residents in a new build the Ministry of Sound had a similar situation over the last few years. The outcome was the flats were built (or are being built currently) but with a recognition that the Ministry was there first. "The nightclub and the property developer also agreed a "deed of easement", which will allow the Ministry of Sound to continue with their current noise levels without fear of complaints from residents." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-25642151

Bluerevolution Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Save lives ? Really, no just to keep traffic > flowing I understand the technicalities of the traffic flow argument (although I'm not sure how valid it is when you consider how far it's possible to drive before reaching a traffic light in town vs on a motorway where it does work), but that's not why it's been introduced according to Southwark. Everything they say is about safety http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/100011/transport_and_streets/3431/borough_wide_20mph_speed_limit

If you don't fancy doing it yourself with T-Cut then https://www.chipsaway.co.uk/ is the kiddie. If it's real, proper, deep then for paintwork I've used JS Coachworks in Forest Hill. A lot of this is down to a) how severe it is and b) if it's worth it. In your shoes as you seem a bit nervous on it I'd be going for chipsaway I think.

So we're not a problem hotspot area then? The 20mph limit may well be a good idea where there is a problem hotspot but for us it's starting to look a like a sledgehammer for a non existent nut.

Did anyone actually vote for the 20 limit? Was it in a manifesto?

Might be a browser issue. It works for me on chrome and on a chromebook. At work we're still on IE10 and that's not working.
