Probably because, given they are doing it all day, they are exposed to much greater amounts of something which is not harmful at lower dosages. Bit like the dentist running out of the room when you have an xray.

Why?
  3. Happy happy day. The forum may become readable again.
  4. The Blow-In Monkeys
  5. Agreed with the above. The headline is roughly analogous to Putting Up Umbrellas Makes It Rain.
  6. I like 'em. I hope they age as intended with shiny bits and rusty bits. I hope people sit on them and kids climb on them. I hope kids have the opportunity to fall off them! I hope they become an established and loved feature of the park.
  7. Posh Burger Chicken Shop Caff
  8. They are bolted to sunken concrete foundations so I'm pretty sure these are there final resting places. (Assuming these ones aren't nicked as well)
  9. People filming video on their phones in portrait mode.
  10. I went to have a look at these yesterday and think they're great. The statement above about them inviting "approach, play and physical interaction" is promising as well, they look great for kids to sit and climb on. I just hope the first time one falls off and bangs their head (as is certain to happen) the sculptures don't get fenced off which would spoil the whole thing.

We've had one a couple of times on the border of our property as they sold a neighbour's house. I kind of live and let live with For Sale, but as soon as it says Sold I pull it down. Agreed with someone above on the blocks of flats with lots of signs on. They almost need in the design stage an area where signs could be, and only one for each agent which can say how many flats for sale. As a side note on a drunken student night in Kingston a friend and I took down over twenty of these signs and stuck them in the loft. When we moved out the estate agent found most of them were theirs and was a bit reluctant to give us our deposit back...
  12. If the ticket has been incorrectly issued, or there is a factual or procedural error even if you committed the offence, then an appeal will generally be successful. If there isn't such an error, and you parked where you shouldn't, then it generally isn't. Give the information you've shared I'm not sure how much more help you're looking for. Has it been correctly issued?

Not that I know of so I've taken to buying these = http://www.mccain.co.uk/mccain-products/authentic-chips/gorgeous-chips/ The nearest chippy I know is Fryers Delight in Holborn.

Sounds about right - my parents have helped me out as a man in my 30's 40's and I expect to be passing it on.. Louisa - I'd probably agree with you over youngsters expecting support from parents, taking it for granted and leeching as you put it, but if I want to support my kids in a way I see fit, and my parents want to help me out, all give rather than take btw, then good luck to me, them, and anyone else involved. Isn't that what families and friends do for each other?
  17. Move somewhere you will be happy, if it turns out to be a good investment (ie better than another area) then great. If not? You're still happy. We moved to ED 8 years ago and by fluke our house has made some money but for us it makes no difference - it's the same house, on the same street, with the same life. Yes Catford & Penge will probably go up in the next few years but don't make that the main criterion.
  18. Who are they playing..? I'm assuming Met Police?
  19. When people write down puns and put the pun words in italics or ?like this?.
  20. Just tested via BT tester and got 58.1Mb to the home. Happy with that. I do got drop outs though on Internet Radio etc which I think are more about network issues eg router channels, looking at those.
  21. Just be aware it's not going to be as slick as a sky box and remote, but as a second room solution it should be OK.
  22. Can you get an xbox or similar and use it as a Sky Go device? No need for any wires then I don't think.
  23. (Posted this on wrong thread originally) I don't generally expect your man and van to be exactly on time, but Jouseph was last night. Helpful when the job wasn't as easy as it might have been, as well as friendly and prompt - a ruffers recommendation.
