  1. I've been away this week with barely any internet and I get back to this Ice Bucket thing and I have no idea where it came from. The TLTTCMIR part is that these memes are apparently important enough to be on six o'clock new on Radio 4.

I went to a funeral a while back for a man I barely knew, but his daughter is my best friend. It felt a bit awkward initially being at the front but I was there to support her and did so, and on reflection being anywhere else would have been wrong. Re what to wear - go conservative unless explicitly told different. Dark suit, white shirt, black tie.
  3. Downloading RRD now, thanks for heads up. I tried LA Noire a while back but it felt too mechanical and process-y for want of a better word.

(Never seen him > without the full preacher/cowboy/flour schtick) Difficult to distinguish between the two, as I had the full preacher cowboy outfit on... They got close enough to see my face and ask for an autograph before then realising their mistake though. My, how we laughed.

How is that pretentious and unfriendly? You'll really not go somewhere because the landlord says that? Really?
  7. Carl McCoy of Fields Of The Nephilim at a Screaming Blue Messiahs gig at the Marquee, in my full on goth days. Will Self in a cigar shop although to be fair he was next to me and as I glanced in the mirror opposite it was me getting confused. Drink may have been taken.

Many of the "how do I get to" threads on here can be addressed using it. I work in Old Street and it gets me to Shoreditch High Street in twenty odd minutes with a quick walk at the other end when I'm not motorbiking it.
  9. Haven't really shopped around but BT is solid and fast. Their smart talk app is good as well if you travel. And they chuck in BT Sport if that's a factor for you.
  10. Interesting piece here - http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/aug/01/best-worst-train-tickets-rail-fare
  11. Any security is better than none. Putting it cynically you want to make it easier to nick someone else's petrol. Good start is put a cover on the bike and a big chain and padlock round it. It's a pain but I put a cover on my bike every night.

  13. "Richard Wyatt, who had a ticket for the preview and had spent around five hours researching and shopping for a costume for the event, told London24: ?I?m absolutely gutted. I was really looking forward to it. One bloke said he?d shaved off his beard.? His beard! Cancelled again tonight for the Friday. I went to a couple of Secret Cinema's a few years ago - before they'd bitten off much more than they could chew.. Cancelling at 3pm is out of order though, really rude. http://www.london24.com/news/secret_cinema_back_the_future_preview_night_cancelled_1_3696930

  15. Can you tell what kind of vehicle it was? Reason I ask is the car opposite us got scraped last night with a very distinctive London Transport shade of red so I'm sure that's where the owner of that one will be starting.

  20. Once you had all the contacts on your phone, the 2000 or whatever, just let them be (if you do it again). Better too many surely. You can then choose how many to actually see by pressing menu when in contacts for a contacts to display option ie device, sim etc.
  21. The light is of the end of the world - this always strikes me as an appropriate soundtrack, go to about 4.40 for the real apocalypse bit, or 8.15.
  22. Internet articles which are just lists spread across a load of pages. Listicles, if you will.
