  1. It's been a while since we had any clown activity...
  2. Correct, they don't remove them automatically. There was one on our road which hadn't been used since I moved in (in 2008) and when the road was resurfaced a few months ago they painted it in aqain. I asked the council about it and they posted a notice of intention to remove it, no one objected, so it was removed.
  3. I'd be surprised if it was the presenters who designed the segment. Blame the producers.

Not really, the Highway Code already prohibits parking "opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space".
  5. Bloody Mary. Next.
  6. The thing I am unclear on is how the club, which apparently runs at an unsustainable loss at the moment, will suddenly become viable through this move. Talking to the Bellendend (Hadley PR) chap last night he said that they are exploring different business models to make that happen but, thus far, no concrete business plan has been put forward or identified. The plans look fine to me in principle from a nice planning perspective (not perfect but OK) but without that Business Plan I'd be reluctant to just approve.
  7. Seems to me this whole thread has been tainted by Lewis's aggression. There is a conversation to be had for sure, shall we start again?
  8. Source please?
  9. Funny post from James there.
  10. Fly on Korean Air. It's cheap as it's not quick, there is a 15 hour stop over in Seoul on the way back. I've done this three times and am amazed at the people who stay in the airport when it's actually a free trip to Seoul, they bus you in and get you a hotel there.
  11. Credit where it's due, this is a great idea.

  14. All good material for a future show I guess.
  15. The chimney (on ours at least) is purely cosmetic, you can cut it down easily and just route the duct wherever you want. It's probably a separate piece to the hood also.
  16. Where in the North? I do this a fair amount, last Sunday M40 A40 to Shepherds Bush way then over and through Battersea South Circular. Google maps these days is really good, it updates the best route as it goes. The week before it gave me a different route. Depends on how you're defining central London really. East side nunhead_man says it all realyy.

We painted our whole house after a refurb with paint from here and I have never met anyone so passionate about..well.. paint! Spend some time there, get to know each other, and he'll make some great recommendations. As a bonus the paint names have some 'interesting' names... the front of our house is painted a green shade called 'Polka Music Mercifully Interrupted at Frequent Intervals by a German Disc Jockey.' The painter initially thought we were taking the mick when we sent him for that one..
  18. "Have you thought what it means to re-use a grave?" Yep, good idea. Next question?
  19. Were you following best practice? http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005D7VJX2/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1
  20. I understand there are other reasons, fair enough, but there surely is a way to manage calls if someone needs time spent with them rather than just leaving people hanging on. I have now been on for 32 minutes and am still 2nd in the queue...
  21. As I write I am in the phone queue, having called between 2 and 4 as advised as it would be less busy. Initially I was told I was number 4 in the queue and thought "Ah, not bad, should get through fairly quickly." That was 18 minutes ago, and I am now number 2 in the queue. Do people just rung up for a chat or something? How long can a call to make an appointment take?
  22. Iain M Banks - Consider Phlebas
  23. Yup, OKR solid as far as Tesco. So solid I'm on a motorbike and ended up taking a diversion.
  24. Mustard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Police don't block the road for VIP. They do. The Met Special Escort Group are experts in this, just using a few bikes to progressively block junctions for as short a period as possible along the VIP route. They're the ones with the whistles. They might not block roads for long, but they do block them.
