  1. Start getting receipts and keeping them for all costs incurred as well, eg fares.
  2. After reading the whole thread a few things keep bubbling in my mind.. For a kick off if I?m understanding it right these kids have been doing this for essentially a whole school year, I still can?t work out why this has become an issue now? As it goes I?m not actually feeling that critical of anyone involved in the situation. While I think the rise of a situation where the school feels legally obliged to have a word and it potentially has to tell someone of its concern that?s not of itself the school?s fault, more that of an increasingly and ludicrously over protective society, an attitude which is reflecting by many of posting on this thread. I actually find the ?never mind the reasoned arguments, what about common sense?!?!? posts amusing though; God help us if we apply any kind of calm and sensible consideration of the facts eh? Like a few others on here I?m broadly in support of the family although my initial reaction is that five does seem too young. Having said that I don?t know them, I don?t know the kids, and I trust them as parents to make the right decision for their own. (As Mick Mac said earlier though if they were walking I?d be even more calm about it) Earlier in the thread was mention of a boy who is only just allowed out to the shops on his own at the age of twelve. Is that appropriate? I don?t think so.
  3. I'm finding it very hard to warm to Holland, or maybe it's just van Bommel and Robben's constant cheating.
  4. Me - Germany 3-1.
  5. Disagree with the proposal - sending off and penalty is sufficient punishment.
  6. My wife likes Luca's bread and croissants so I went there this morning. Dear God, two pretzels, two croissants and a sandwich loaf... the difference between the margin on those in there and the margin on a house isn't that big.

  8. Are they Channel?
  9. Getting back to where you started, what do you mean by "too many". Too many from what perspective? Seems to me the market decides how many is too many..
  10. Ah, good to know. PM'd you in the meantime.. (I type slow). Agree thread, or at least post, deletion might be a good idea.
  11. Techie criticism of the actual site here and some nuggets of suggestions so far for light relief. http://yourfreedumb.tumblr.com/

True, but leadership is about leading, taking difficult decisions which may turn out to be unpopular and, in a political context, facing public vote on whether those decisions turned out to be right. As Cameron said in his first statement as PM - ""I came into politics because I love this country, I think its best days still lie ahead and I believe deeply in public service, and I think the service our country needs right now is to face up to our really big challenges, to confront our problems, to take difficult decisions, to lead people through those difficult decisions so that together we can reach better times ahead." These kind of requests for opinion seem to me to be an attempt to dilute responsibility should the decision eventually taken turn out to be wrong or ultimately unpopular.
  13. Maybe England weren't so bad after all.. (NB, this is a joke)
  14. Now I haven't got UEFA coaching badges but it seems to me is our problem is we don't play, in each position, the best English player for that position. Instead we bodge, defence aside, the best half a dozen players into a formation to try and fit them in.
  15. Didn't we recently have an election where we went through a long process to give someone the authority to make these decisions for us? Now you're in power have the balls to take those decisions, take responsibility.
  16. Terry was the worst of a bad lot, but that made him very bad indeed.
  17. Depends how good you need to be to score against a defence which just isn't functioning and yes John Terry I'm talking about you on pretty much every goal.
  18. Telling the truth on this occasion.
  19. Dog Warden? I'm guessing that's a Southwark thing.
  20. I'm not sure what happens with too many estate agents, but I do know what happens with shoe shops.
  21. I imagine the limit is at the point where they stop making money, at which point they become useless.
  22. Building control signing something off doesn't necessarily mean it's been built properly - you can trust me and my insurance company on that one.
  23. Littering really p!sses me off, I've picked people up on their littering many times. But this reporting seems pointless. Assuming we find someone to reprimand the guy, perhaps from the license office, I'd be amazed if anything happens beyond the following. "We've had a report you dropped litter out of your car" "No, I didn't." "Oh well, procedure followed, off you trot."

  25. What law did he break? Not sure if littering is actually illegal. If your thought is he broke some rules or codes of conduct which apply to license minicabs then I guess whoever licenses minicabs would be the ones to go to. Can't help wondering what the point is though.
