  1. *sheepishly puts hand up* *puts it back down again as it makes head hurt*

Any news on that?

You want one of these: http://www.longmountain.com/movieguns/TheUntouchables/DSCN9952.jpg Scare the shit out of the little blighters. As the boys in Pulp Fiction put it: Vincent: What's more chickenshit than f*cking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't f*ck with another man's vehicle. Lance: You don't do it. Vincent: It's just against the rules.
  4. No longer I'm afraid. The naga bin jolokia comes in at a whopping 1,041,427 SHU! I do believe Mr Mockney even has some sauce containing this bad boy - rather him than me.
  5. For a non-professional you did good; I think that summation is spot-on.
  6. They do have a sort of deli in there too where you can buy ham and achovies etc so they might sell you the peppers.
  7. Would Barcelona Tapas not sell them?
  8. And I'm afraid it is not only the ED branch that's poor. I was in the Sydenham branch on Tues and had one of the worst cups of coffee I've had in a long time. But it has no competition in Sydenham for that sort of establishment so probably does quite well. Staff were very nice though. Gave me directions to the station and even offered me some free staff birthday cake. Maybe by combining ther best elements of the two we could have one decent cafe.
  9. And your council tax isn't that high. Southwark are below both national and London averages.
  10. Were any hoovers harmed when you took that photo? Is the hoover of legal age? When you took the photo did you mean for someone to acheive sexual gratification from it? Legal minefield.
  11. I read someone in another thread mention there hadn't been any real debating threads in a while so maybe this will set the cat amogst the pigeons. New proposals will make all obscene images of children illegal Now, I'd rather this wasn't a debate where everyone has to confirm how much they despise peadophiles before they start with their post (this isn't the BBC's Have Your Say after all) but just so we get off on the right foot, peados = scum etc etc What worries me about this legislation is that you can be prosecuted for possessing or making an entirey fabricated image. It will be an offense to "possess drawings and computer-generated images of under-aged children in sexual activity." Whilst not wishing to condone those who have these images is it not dangerously close to a "thought-crime". No children are harmed by an artist's(and I use the term loosely) pen and yet one can be prosecuted for just such a thing. If there is no harm - where is the crime? In the perpetrators head. Thus, we have a legal precedent for convicting someone based on their thoughts. Any thoughts?
  12. What sort of level are you guys at? Jalapeno? Scotch Bonnet? Red Savina? Pepper spray?
  13. What is it with you boys and your chilli? Tom Parker Bowles once wrote a very funny article in the Mail on Sunday (my parents copy before I'm lynched) about trying a chilli sauce of the end of the scoville scale. I like spice and heat...but in tea?!
  14. I'm loving the idea of East Dulwich Radio! "....brought to you by Moxons Fish, fresh fish, all day every day. And now the traffic report: Lordship Lane looking busy from my window with a bus stuck outside Somerfield. Don't go changing!"
  15. Rossiya! Spasiba, comrades. Glasnost & perestroika!
  16. The Guardian, today, has an article on dogs in restaurants and our own Rye Hotel pub gets a big thumbs up with water bowls and the like.
  17. Marmora Man, if you have an air rifle, squirrels on the Rye are free and can be legally shot. Although guns in peckham tend to cause a degree of panic so best use a ghillie suit, eh. Squirrel recipes here. Mockney, you raise a well known example of the legitamacy of theft in certain circumstances but I'm not convinced they apply in modern Britain. Absolving oneself of social responsibities due to poverty is both patronising to those who are law-abiding and in the same boat as you, and also a profoundly selfish POV. There are obviously shades of grey in this with decisions to be made on free-range, ethical food stuffs being a world away from anti-social behaviour. Nonetheless, I'm not sure I believe poor (although this is obviously relative rather than absolute) people should evade judgement on their purchasing power merely because they are poor. Hugh Fernley Whittingstall showed in his chicken campaign that judicious use of one chicken can feed a family of four twice over. If Mamora Man's budget is a mere ?20 however even this may be beyond his reach.
  18. Having spoken to a trader, apparently plans are afoot to change the layout. It will occupy both sides of the road and be pedestrianised but only as far as Nutfield Rd where it'll revert to a single side and allow vehicle access.
  19. Can you bo%^ocks! Why do you think I bought it! ;-) He did say he goes to the Gowlett for Lucky 7s so there could be a tie-in. Would benefit both parties.
  20. Nipped in on Sunday and had a lovely chat with John. He wants anyone local with a band to let him know as he wants them to have gigs there as well. High Fidelity fans will already be awaiting Springsteen's iminent announcement of a guest slot one rainy Thursday night! SeanMcG is right when he says stock is idiosyncratic but picked a Spanish import 7" copy of Ghost Town by The Specials (at a bargain ?3) so I was a happy bunny. Nearly got a Huey Lewis single as well but backed out at the last minute. He's going to champion up & coming locals so best of luck to him.
  21. MP might need to put on a few pounds before you two start a local protection racket!

With such small budgets you can't > really expect many to realistically avoid budget > items in the supermarkets or shopping in Primark. > Perhaps morals are for those who can afford them. I know where you're coming from MP but Delia then goes and puts her foot in her mouth with her "cheats" series where you have to trawl supermarkets for all these jarred and pre-made meal substitutes which cost a fortune. Her shepherds pie came in at something close to ?15 ffs! ?15! For shepherds pie! I have no idea how to budget for food, I'm ashamed to say, and spent more of my student loan on food than on nights out if I remember rightly. Sad though that makes me I always had a good time and a steady supply of dinner guests. You have to be able to "afford" morality? I don't know about that though. Seems an easy get out. I'm poor so I can forget about anyone else? I need a new t-shirt and if some poor 3rd world child lost a finger making it so be it? I know that's a touch over-dramatic but you see my point. I don't think poverty can be an excuse for a lack of morality. That's a slippery slope.
  23. Dear all Hope one of you can help. Ella and Louis have both been missing from their home in Oakhurst Grove since Friday night. This is very unusual as they are normally very keen on getting fed! We are now very worried for their safety. If anyone sees them please call either of the numbers below asap. They do not have collars (they lose them faster than we can replace them) but are microchipped. If you live nearby please check your sheds, bins, storage areas, etc in case they have been trapped. Thanks for your help. Hannah 07734330572
