  7. Good Luck! Ting Ting!
  8. A revolution? Well, there is the potential for revolutionary thought/actions (see latest on social mobility). However, as alluded to in the article, unless Milburn tackles the source of our lamentable social mobility (i.e. the inequality), he will only ever be scratching at the surface. There is now more than sufficient evidence to show that the two are inextricably linked.
  9. If something is too hard to do, then it's not worth doing (yep, He).

The super-highways with a raised kerb are pretty good - it is obvious to all road users where they should be placed. Unfortunately the majority of "super-highways" I have cycled on are not demarcated by a raised kerb, which means that it is too easy for drivers to stray into the cyclist's designated area (as happens with the standard green cycle lanes).

Well SteveT, today I visited a friend who has just moved to Dunstan's Road. Jesus, I didn't realise just how hilly it is around there. By the time I reached my friend's house I was absolutely knackered...thought I was going to have a heart attack. So, "swiftly and quietly"? Hmmmm, I don't think so...more like huffing, puffing, groaning and struggling. Going home was fun though...freewheeled virtually all the way home...weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....
  16. 1st Man: "I've really had it with my dog, he'll chase anyone on a bicycle" 2nd Man: "Hmmm, that's a problem...what are you going to do about it?" 1st Man: "Guess the only answer is to confiscate his bike!"

Dear Mr. Ben, I urge you to view the mad dog's Lotto Thread. If there is one last Woof thread that your eyes should ever feast upon, it has to be this one. I tell you this because I feel you are seriously depriving yourself of a work of genius. Respectfully Yours, Ladymuck.
  18. You've got to hand it to the mad flea-infested mangy dog; his Woof Lottery Thread is GENIUS! I am LOVING it. *hopes to get de-nidded from Nidd as a result of this act of grovelling*
  19. OY!!! Don't give me that...where's my prize you useless good-for-nothing lump of knotted mangy flea-infested fur!!??? With rotten teeth and cesspit breath to boot! Give me the dosh NOW!!!! In Nidd indeed - Narnia, Katie8729 etc. may be prepared to tolerate this tosh, but I aint havin it...no such place as "in Nidd". Now hand it over or else....
  20. I believe I've just won Willy-Woof - prize(s) please.
  21. I too think that Narnia's comment was fine - though I can perhaps see that the word "silly" might have offended Luc. Notwithstanding the "silly" comment, I agree with giggirl: the subsequent response by the OP was inexcusable and, IMO unfair.

I think that's the point...i.e. that is exactly what Luc is attempting to establish. So far (according to this thread anyway), contaminated fruit does not appear to be an issue so, presumably, s/he was either extremely unlucky or was ill due to an entirely different cause. Hope you are feeling much better Luc.
  23. Yep - hilarious.
  24. :)) - definitely worth waiting for!
