  1. I think you?ll find Wagamama was also tipped for the station arches redevelopment near Peckham Rye station. Edited to add, Ive spoken with Tonkotsu and they?ve confirmed they?re on track to open the Peckham branch sometime in August this year. Louisa.
  2. Beautiful photos PR! I saw the flypast from my top room yesterday too. Wonderful display. Louisa.
  3. Foxy, do you know if the new restaurant will have fraught beers on tap, or will it be bottled varieties only? I am willing to give it a go if they do beer on tap. Louisa.
  4. Still can?t understand why C?te Brasserie don?t have a branch locally. They do a reasonable set lunch menu. Louisa.
  5. https://tonkotsu.co.uk/about According to southwark planning, this ramen style restaurant with branches in Soho, Battersea and Notting Hill will be opening at 133 Rye Lane. Even Peckham is getting more imaginative restaurants than ED. Louisa.

  7. I genuinely do not understand what you are on about John, what nonsense? Others have backed me on the pizza saturation, but clearly that doesn?t fit in with your narrative of Louisa causing trouble and talking nonsense, does it? At no stage have I accused fishbiscuits of being part of the clique, but there are others still posting on the forum who are heavily involved in previous groupings. We can?t deny that. I am not willing to call people up on their clique membership, that isn?t fair, and you shouldn?t expect me to. I am here to debate on a open forum in a honest, and yes, sometimes opinionated manner. That?s how I do things. I am not willing to be a offended snowflake at every turn. And I?m also not willing to appease ignorance when I see it. But I can compromise. I don?t like pizza, I think everyone knows this now. My dig isn?t about what pizza is, it?s about the amount of it we are forced to indulge in locally. It?s over the top. Louisa.
  8. John you know as well I do, some of the worst offenders on this forum seem to be in a clique with the powers that be, and rarely if ever get pulled up on their often narcissistic and sometimes rather personal offensive drivel. It seems I do tend to draw a higher expectation from admin when it comes to adhering to forum etiquette, I think even you would admit that. I am not being holier than thou, I am far from perfect, but I don?t pretend to be. It seems I can?t do right for wrong sometimes, everything I say draws negative attention. It?s often borderline bullying, but I?m big enough to take it. Louisa.

Exactly this point. I don?t think the silent majority care either way, therefore it would make more sense to have a restaurant which offers some more imagination. Maybe even, dare I say it, a chain which does deals to attract people on certain nights of the week. Louisa.

Sod off and ruin another forum. I have been a member of this forum since 2007. I know many people, some on a personal level. You then have the audacity to call me a troll, after YOU went out of your way to wade in with some nasty comments directed at me for sharing my opinions. I believe we have enough restaurants of the same type within the local radius, that is all. Why you felt the need to wade in with predictable self righteous food snobbery, I don?t know. Well, I am not playing up to your poor attempt at goading me. Sorry. Louisa.
  11. Please pk stop with the grand standing. It comes across as passive aggressive and unnecessary. I have not seen a menu as you well know, because it?s not currently available online. I did read a menu a month or so back which I presume was taken down? But the point I am making is one about the obvious difference between two different menus. You know this. Now let?s stop this bickering and wish this new venture well. I may even pop in myself for some chips. Louisa.
  12. HMB I have nothing against posh chips! Some nice toppings sound good to me! Louisa.

I was referring to some negative comments associated with the confusion of two menu links, nothing to do with what?s on the menu. You tend to make some stupidly provocative points don?t you? Louisa.
  14. Yes ignore the usual suspects. I wish you well too, nice to see something a little bit different opening on the lane. About time we had some variety. Hope it goes well. Btw to those complaining about the two different menus, it?s quite clear that they are both for two different things. Some people just say negative stuff for something to do I?m sure. Louisa.

None of them cancel the others out. I think you get my point, gesture, especially on a day like today- and more especially tomorrow. A moment of reflection for the people who gave everything, sometimes at the cost of their own lives. Not a time for splitting hairs. Louisa.
  16. I had a uncle who disconnected mines under ships and submarines during the war. The stories he told have stuck with me forever and I have nothing but huge admiration for these people. Selfless, duty bound, and incredibly brave generation of men and women. A good reminder which puts the rest of the threads to shame. Very moving ceremony from Southsea Common. Louisa.
  17. Don?t put words in my mouth. Taking me out of context. I said it was sad news we have more of the same. A high street for food centric people. Louisa.
  18. I never once suggested the old jaflong site become a pound shop. Not once. It?s nice to see the place coming back into use after so long vacant, no one questions that. But it?s just a shame that yet another of the same thing is opening up when we clearly have that genre saturated. A Poundland in the site next to Organic Village could work. Louisa.
  19. What is greeej? I don?t mind being called nuts, that doesn?t bother me. Some of the most intelligent and thoughtful opinions come from people thinking out of the box. Pk diversity in retail IS about price. We need a variety of things for everyone. Since about 2007, we?ve lost Iceland, Somerfield and more recently 7/11 (thankfully taken on by Superdrug) and others. All replaced by either restaurants or expensive food shops. Louisa.
  20. You won?t catch me wasting my money on a pizza. Not when I can pop to Kebab and Wine and walk away with something considerably more filling and healthier to boot. Pizza is not cheap and is not filling. Sorry John, that?s my honest opinion. And we have plenty of these places locally and don?t need anymore. Not when we are wanting for other retail options as outlined above. Also, as I stated before, how about a decent Morrocan or Mexican eatery? Foodies always pick and choose when it suits. And the rest of us get stuck with more of the same. You could easily fit a wetherspoons on LL somewhere. But god forbid we upset the yummy mummies and pizza eaters. Louisa.
  21. Kebabs are cheap, nutritious, and relatively healthy if you don?t order chips. A equal balance of protein, carbohydrate and at least one of your five a day fruit/veg. Compare that to a pizza? You can?t. No contest. Louisa.
  22. I?ve already said I?d be happy with a Poundland or similar. That way we can get sweets and other stuff, all at a knock down price. How about that? Or would that go against your plan to open more pizza restaurants? Louisa.
  23. But which of your pizza restaurants include a drink? A family on a budget will often struggle to add drinks onto that. You?ll easily be looking at 35/40 quid with drinks. Possibly more. And personally, I?m not sure most people would feel satisfied on a artisan pizza. I?d probably pop to the kebab shop on the way home. Louisa.
  24. I?m not shifting any goal posts. I said wealthy foodies could afford it, and that LL was becoming an exclusive haunt for their ilk. If you think a regular family of four can afford ?25 a night for a meal then I seriously think you need to get a new calculator! Also, as I previously explained, Wetherspoons do a variety of different meals, often which include alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks for a set price. In fact, I think they even sell pizza with a drink! There is no such thing as a Louisa approved restaurant, as you well know since Le Moulin closed I have struggled to find the same level of warmth and hospitality locally. But that?s just my opinion. It?s not all about me. It?s about a useable high street with variety of choice. More pizza doesn?t add to that mix. Wealthy foodies will be salivating, but most of us are sighing into our Pinot. Louisa.

Are we sticking with just four ordinary cheese pizzas? Or are we putting fancy toppings on? Also, the nearest Wetherspoons are a bus ride away, and many of their options include a drink with the food. I?m not being a dick, I?m being realistic. Louisa.
