Absolutely not. *Bob* was a unique, independent forum personality who happily poked bears with sticks and nearly always got a response. A Lone Ranger who stood his ground. Much like myself, a martyr to the ?go it alone? gang on the EDF, who fell on his sword to avoid further clique related conflict. Louisa.
  2. I am not ignoring other posters experiences, I was simply stating a fact that curry sauce is synonymous with Welsh chippies, and gravy with the north. I?m not suggesting you can?t get either elsewhere in the country, and I?m sure if I was sick enough to want curry sauce with my chips around ED I could find somewhere that provides such an offering. I was stating facts about regional popularity for each type of sauce. Bizarre and slightly ironic you feel I turned my response to your rant about me, into a rant about YOU. I guess that?s how goading works though, do a 180 and turn it back at the person you?re trying to wind up. Anyway, enjoy whatever you want on your bloody chips! Louisa.
  3. Here we go Sephiroth, seeing as this issue seems so important to you, here as a actual article breakdown by U.K. region of where certain sauces are most popular. As I was alluding to in earlier posts, Wales opts for curry sauce by some margin, and the north and midlands opt for gravy. Here it is in black and white, just in case you want to make a further mountain out of a molehill over this, like you do with most things related to me. I would ask for an apology, but no doubt you?ll somehow find a way of continuing to justify your bizarre Sunday evening goading rant. https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politics/articles-reports/2012/02/21/great-british-chip-divide Louisa.
  4. I still speak to *Bob* via PM. He has a select band of friends these days. He gave up posting because the forum became boring. I think he became sick of the clique. Louisa.
  5. It is a Welsh thing. You saying it?s not now then? Customary pot stirring I would suggest, I know it?s Sunday and you?re bored John but come on, save the goading for a week day. Mwah. Louisa.
  6. Glad someone else remembers Steve?s, bob. Corner of Bellenden and Maxted Road. I remember going in there from childhood right up until the late 80?s. Italian family. They sometimes chucked in some batter crackling if you were a regular. Now THAT was a proper fish and chip shop. Louisa.
  7. Some newbie types were moaning in Roses a few weeks ago requesting the battered sausages not to cooked in the same fryer as the fish and or chips. Back in my day when Steve?s was the best chippy around, you?d have been told where to get off! Louisa.
  8. Funnily enough Seabag, Dick Pappenheim took part in the 1952 Oslo Olympic Games and he was as Dutch as a windmill. Sometimes miracles do occur in adverse conditions. Louisa.
  9. In answer to malumbu?s first question. This is in the lounge because I am unable to post in the other section. The only location that would be remotely viable for such a high street chain would be LL, and even that is pushing it by their other cited locations on the website. Far busier than anywhere around here. Therefore, EDR seems like a bit of a strange choice, and the former aneto site is the only place I can think of? Unless someone can think of somewhere else? Louisa.
  10. Curry sauce is a welsh thing with chips, not northern, that?s gravy. Louisa.
  11. I notice on their menu they do fish finger sandwiches. Tbh I?d rather make them at home. Louisa.
  12. Heard today from a shopkeeper? Louisa.
  13. Another vote for Ken?s. After reading the reviews on here, and the positive feedback online I went to get Cod and Chips last night. A decent, old fashioned, good quality fish and chip shop. Rare find in London, more like the fish and chips you would expect on the pier at the seaside. If you?ve not been before, I would highly recommend. Louisa.
  14. Ours is not to question the buzzard malumbu, he is a unique Dulwich character with a unique lifestyle. I wonder if they sing camp fire songs? Louisa.
  15. Rose?s on East Dulwich Road is definitely one of the best IMHO, probably in all of inner south London. Good chunky chips, freshly cooked fish in a decent crispy batter and all served in a proper box so it remains crispy and nothing goes cold. Also, they do a great selection of pies too. Louisa.
  16. NewWave, there are numerous Spirtualist Churches nearby, but without a doubt, my favourite is the one near Eltham train station. A lovely bunch of people, so friendly and kind, and as you say extremely supportive and community minded. You?ll never want for a helping hand again, or feel isolated or lonely once you?ve met these beautiful people. Easily accessible by direct train links from PR station, takes about 15/20 minutes. Or if you?re driving roughly the same again. They do open circles during the week, along with private readings, meditation and a Sunday service with a guest medium. Please PM me and I?ll forward the churches website with events diary to you. Louisa.
  17. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I did this. I used to be a wind up merchant on > local forums :) Well I?m glad I brought quids out of retirement for a one off gig. And people say I contribute nothing to this forum? Meh. Louisa.
  18. My sleep and calm nature are almost certainly (in part at least) related to this session. I was once told my a spirit medium friend that I was a relatively old soul and had probably gone through various stages of existence. The purpose of this therapy varies from person to person, but ultimately the end goal is quite successful. Most of us will be unaware of our inherited traits in this life, which are often attributable to either lessons learnt or lessons yet to be learnt, in this life. I certainly would recommend it to anyone not fully in a good place reading this. A big eye opener. Louisa.
  19. Unfortunately I am probably the least handy person in the world when it comes to haberdashery related issues. Possibly because in my previous life I successfully mastered that particular thing? I find it fascinating that each life we have influences the next stage of our many layers of existence. Louisa.
  20. I recently underwent a past life regression therapy session, privately arranged through a friend. It was one of the most cleansing, amazing experiences I?ve had in many years. I was told about it via a spiritualist church I regularly attend for other forms of therapy including healing and meditation. I know this forum has a lot of sceptics, but I can not recommend this enough. If you are suffering from physical or mental problems or even just feeling a bit under the weather, this sort of therapy can help with anxiety, pain, sleep issues and grief. Would anyone let go share their past life regression stories with the forum? Through exploration of my deeper consciousness I found out I was a Victorian dressmaker who lived in a small coastal town. The experience was so vivid that when I awoke I almost felt like I could still see the people whos clothing I had made and helped repair in my regression session. Since the experience, I have become quite calm and sleep has been getting back on track. Louisa.
  21. Nah you didn?t call it 11 years ago. Self congratulation won?t gloss over the fact he?s pretty much a one nation Tory trying to wear Thatcherite clothing, mostly because the chameleon is happy being disguised in whatever clothing suit his political purpose ie ?Brexit?...... next.... Louisa.
  22. I was warned not all fats are bad. The kind of saturated fat you find in dairy is obviously not good for cholesterol. I also don?t think prawns are very good in that department. But really, to lower cholesterol you just need to stick to a balanced diet. Unless you have a specific health problem. Louisa.
  23. I?m not so sure long term polling says anything of the sort. I would be more inclined to look at recent European election results, in which the split was pretty much 50/50 between who voted for leave and remain parties. I know it doesn?t fit in easily with the ?remain? narrative that everyone is suddenly having a collective eureka moment in the ?leave? camp, but unfortunately for them, the most recent elections tell us a very different story. Btw it?s Loopy Lou not ?the loopy? Louisa.
  24. You can say a lot of things about Boris, but one thing you can?t accuse him of is not wanting to be PM at whatever cost. Based on that, I would assume he will say anything to get the job (he needs to appease the Brexit loving party base), and once he?s got the job, he will do a Houdini act and wriggle out of this by either calling a snap election, re-branding May?s deal, or forcing another referendum. He believes in Brexit as much as a Turkey believes in Christmas. He wants the job, then he will do anything to keep it. Whatever the cost. Louisa.
  25. A second referendum may well happen, but as a democrat in a polarised society, I fail to see how it will resolve things. I genuinely can?t. Louisa.
