I'm not looking forward to another 40 years of working and I'm pretty sure the kids I'll be teaching (assuming that's what i'll be doing then) won't appreciate someone their grandparents age trying to teach them. 507,000 people aged 100 is incredible.
  2. eh? PR I like the take away numbering system idea very much. It's made me hungry though

  4. 44. The dog has eaten turkey. (this has a plus side of less turkey sandwiches)
  5. There are quite a few diabetic websites with recipes. This one looks quite good: diabetes.org.uk
  6. We have a chocloate log too, with a robin perched on top. I love Christmas dinner, bring it on.
  7. I think popping into the refuge is a good idea. They can decide if they want to tell the woman (if she is a resident there).

  9. > rather than criticising the > parents who whatever way you look at it failed > their little children? This for me sums up why I feel uncomfortable with this thread. Whatever happened they don't need criticising, they've suffered enough.
  10. I'm mostly spiderman a bit like robin. I am apparently intelligent, witty, a bit geeky and have great power and responsibility.
  11. 22) we can't help with the cooking or washing up as we're tired from a long drive (of 2 hours)
  12. Nothing comes up on 192.com but a google of the name comes up with examinations officer at Jags school. You'll find her email here: http://www.jags.org.uk/contacts/ If it's not her, or you don't find her then probably best to email/ring M&S.

  14. congratulations (tu)
  15. I'm currently on a placement at a secondary school in Kidbrooke and although I got in, a lot of staff from Kent, brighton or other places didn't make it in. As a result on the Wednesday quite a few classes ended up being merged so in effect the lessons didn't happen, they just played games and complained about not being allowed out in the snow. The school was closed on thurs and fri which to me made sense because the students would again just turn up and not be taught anything. I'm sure I read somewhere that there's an idea of getting teachers/staff to go and help out at their nearest school when it snows.
  16. I've pm'd you back to say I think it is your, sorry
  17. As the title suggests there is a green pegeot (have no idea how to spell that) on mebopurne grove, about half way down, with a rear side window smashed. The numberplate starts HY I think. Just thought I'd try posting on here incase it's yours or you know whose it might be. Should I report it on-line to the police?
  18. if you can't use paint you could always put it in powerpoint and crop it in there.
  19. My boyfriends work van was snowed in 2 years ago in a car park and he tried for ages to get it out but couldn't so didn't go to work. Southwark council put it down as holiday but for the few that did turn up they got sent home on full pay. Grr
  20. I agree if it's on the pavement and doesn't look like a just delivered item i.e. taped up etc then expect things to be taken. We've got rid of a lot of stuff this way but also had a set of packaged just delivered shelves stolen within half an hour of delivery. It sounds like they thought it was left out for anyone to take.
  21. Everywhere I have lived where there's been a CPZ has been a nightmare for things like vistor permits etc having to go during office hours to a building 2 bus rides away just to pick up a visitor permit. So please no to a CPZ.
  22. I quite often see them early in the morning on lordship lane so they do sweep the leaves. Maybe ring/email the council because they have just missed that bit of road.
  23. Blimey, my Grandad sold his in leatherhead approx 100 sqm for ?1000 total! So he was well and truly done over but luckily he thought he'd got a good price so will never know.
  24. If I were you I'd just knock on the door or post a letter just asking if they'd be interested. We have a long garden and are on a corner and did consider approaching our neighbours to see if they wanted to buy a bit so we could have some money to sort out the inside of the house so you never know, they might be interested. My grandad sold a bit of his garden and got completely ripped off by a property developer so people do well parts of their gardens.
  25. I don't know but that info should be on their website
