  1. Not that I'm in favour but most of the lost parking spaces are down to the councils blanket approach to putting in yellow lines at all junctions. What's really galling is that the 16 proposed yellow lines on the roads that junction with Crystal Palace Road were excluded from the scheme that's going ahead because they were considered "Future project, e.g. Quietway" - well that Future Project is now here.
  2. I received the following email today and thought I'd share it with the Forum. It relates to the Councils proposals for the "Southwark Spine" cycling route from Peckham High Street to Lordship Lane (near the Library). The document that details the proposed road changes is too large to attach but if you follow the link it's at the bottom of the page under related documents. Closing date to reply to consultation 4th December (As an aside - I've still to hear the outcome of the previous consultation about Bellenden http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1616398,page=1) Dear Stakeholder We have launched a consultation on proposed changes Southwark Spine walking and cycling route between East Dulwich and Peckham. The route is not just for experienced cyclists but for anyone who wants to use quieter, lower-traffic routes, providing an environment for those cyclists who want to ride at a more leisurely speed. Details of the consultation can be found here: https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/eastdulwichtopeckham/ The consultation closes on Monday 4 December 2017. We are also holding a drop-in session on Thursday 16 November, 6:30pm to 8:30pm, at All Saints Peckham Church, Blenheim Grove, London SE15 4QS. If you have any further questions regarding the consultation please email us at [email protected] Please feel free to forward this email to other interested parties. We look forward to receiving your views. Regards Albert Ang | Consultant Project Manager
  3. Another one there tonight. Two fire engines in attendance and tailback on East Dulwich Grove back to Melbourne Grove. I don't know the circumstances and wish all involved well but I can't help but wonder if this is linked to the roadworks in the Village and drivers who've been held up there rushing on, once through the temporary lights.
  4. Oh please can we not stick to the original topic of this thread ?
  5. Those online logins that ask you to (for example) "Select all the images with a store front"... Grr.
  6. James - any update on the medical centre that's replacing the hospital. All the building work seems to be for the new school and the medical centre site seems untouched. At this rate the hospital won't be evacuated for another 3-4 years.
  7. Does anyone know if this is still planned to go ahead and if so when it is likely to be implemented ?
  8. I see. Can you quote some examples of actual shops that are run by people like that or is it just your opinion ?

  10. I think some VAT can be reclaimed if you are converting a building that was previously non-residential to residential use. I think this is one of the reasons barn conversion are popular as the developer is able to reclaim some of the VAT.
  11. 37 from Herne Hill was being diverted via Denmark Hill as well.
  12. If there are between 3 and 9 of them then they could be entitled to a third off with Group Save without any railcards. Check this out. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/pr354fdc0a0400020101fea1769fbf60.aspx
  13. It's possible that more people are recorded as living there in 1939 but there entries are not made public until either 100 years have passed or they are confirmed as no longer alive. If you know that they are no longer living then I think you can apply to have the record opened. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/1939-register/#7-what-does-it-mean-when-an-entry-is-crossed-out-and-marked-see-page
  14. If it's taxed then I don't think the council can touch it.
  15. Not sure if they are any good but isn't there an Apple specialist in the building on Blackwater street, 30 yards down from William Rose ?
  16. As mentioned in the text of the OP but not the title, this may have more to do with the health centre than the school, in which case I doubt the head will be able to assist.

  19. Not sure which section this is appropriate for but anyway. One of the clients I work with made me aware of this apprentice scheme with Legal and General. Feel free to pass it on to anyone who could interested. https://apply.lgim.com/vacancies/5593/apprentice_software_developer
  20. Just seen Rob Brydon outside of the JAGS/Charter entrance where there's some other filming going on.
  21. Also saw the Ferryman last night. Brilliant, the three hours whizzed by for me. And yes the baby was very cute (and we'll behaved!) Bill Nighy, Anna Wintour and Jenni Murray in the audience !
  22. 4-2 Win to the Hamlet. 2,500 crowd. Play Bognor Regis on Monday 1st May in Playoff Final.
  23. Currently 4-1 up, hat-trick for Sekajja. 20 minutes left.
  24. Superdrug sell them.
  25. They've started work in earnest on the old Highshore school site and I spotted four large dumper trucks parked nearby this morning on my way to work. I'm expecting the same with the work going on for the new Heath Centre and school on East Dulwich Grove. A definite need for heightened awareness from all.
