    Flush Lush

And here I was thinking this thread was about getting the elusive Jah out of hibernation.
  2. Thanks Mark - that's useful info.
  3. But if outdoors, how can it differentiate between cats, foxes, pigeons etc and people ? I don't want to be woken up on holiday just to watch wildlife ? If indoors then the damage - the breaking and entering is already done.
  4. What's your opinion on Home Surveillance Cameras / CCTV ? Does it act as a deterrent to burglary or not ? I'm thinking not much - surely most modern day opportunist burglars would just cover their heads and faces wouldn't they ? If the camera is accessible then wouldn't they just rip it off the wall (or wherever) ? In the absence of any kind of alarm, would it have to be combined with some kind of movement sensor to be of any use so that you could be alerted when away from home ? Interested in what others think.
  5. According to the Post Office London County Suburbs Directory, 1919, 2 Adys Road was a Grocers owned by a Joseph King. http://specialcollections.le.ac.uk/cdm/compoundobject/collection/p16445coll4/id/8847/rec/18 (Page 11)
  6. You may not be aware of the impending Southwark Spine changes that will increase parking pressure along its route. The council are pushing this through in spite of the majority of the Consultation respondents being against it. Total loss of on-street parking spaces across Adys, Oglander, Crystal Palace, Goodrich and Landells Roads = 55 http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?ID=6454
  7. Public Service Announcement In case you didn?t know there are no trains from East Dulwich over the Bank Holiday weekend due to engineering works that I would expect includes the bridge replacement on Bellenden Road. From Southern: Buses replace trains between London Bridge and Tulse Hill from Saturday 26 until Monday 28 May Date: 25 May 11:00 PM - 28 May 2018 10:59 PM Routes affected: Between London Bridge and Caterham / Beckenham Junction / Crystal Palace / East Croydon via Tulse Hill Engineering work is taking place between South Bermondsey and Tulse Hill, closing all lines. As a result, buses will replace trains between London Bridge and Tulse Hill.
  8. I do wonder if there are more about. We've had one in the garden this year for the first time ever, to our knowledge at least. And I found one in the fro.t garden compost bin yesterday. Never had one in there before. And no, we don't put cooked food in it, just plant and veg waste.
  9. Total gridlock this evening (wasn't great this morning), from Burger King/Lidl right back along Bellenden/Highshore/Lyndhurst in both directions because Bellenden is completely closed between Holly Grove (Ganapati corner) and Blenheim Grove due to railway bridge replacement. Sign says its going until early June. Avoid if you can.
  10. I noticed that 65 is David Greig (grocers) which I think is now Tart (previously Le Chardon) and I think the name is still in the mosaic tiles in the doorway.
  11. I found these directory entries from the Post Office London County Suburbs Directory via the Leicester University website http://specialcollections.le.ac.uk/cdm/landingpage/collection/p16445coll4 They list all the businesses including the type of business on Lordship Lane in 1917. I found them interesting - I hope you do too.
  12. https://m.soundcloud.com/tracey-thorn/dancefloor-powerdance-remix old skool feel to this.
  13. In my experience the charge for parking between from 12 to 2 doesn't work that well to deter commuter parking. I know of people that park all day and text in at 12 to pay the charge for the 2 hours.
  14. Not SE22 but I love the Kevin Bacon from Small White Elephant on Choumert Road.
  15. Helen Hayes is intending on a parliamentary debate
  16. Seen this ? Attempt to trademark hamlet name.
  17. Huge queues again tonight with many films sold out. I guess this is going to cinema in the 30's and 40's felt like.
  18. Why not? Do you own the forum ? Do you pay for it ? Admin's forum, Admin's rules. You can can always join another forum if you like.
  19. 7:30 left @7:31 so no issues so far.

  22. "God some people on this forum do moan a lot. Or am I missing something? "
  23. I mostly commute by bike but occasionally use the train. Outside of the strike period it seems reasonably reliable to me and then you have a choice of tube, bus or walking. ED station to Moorgate should take you around 35-45 minutes. never have an issue getting a seat on the 7:30 or 7:50.
