  1. just ordered online! not normally allowed to get Indian takeaways as Mr Asset makes lovely Indian scran. Decorating necessitates the lazy option tonight. I'll let you all know how it goes, bet you can't wait.
  2. People who take offence at the way other people speak! If you are Scottish it is quite normal to say 'how' instead of 'why' and also 'can I get' instead of 'please may I have'.
  3. you could also sell any excess eggs.
  4. Mockney, I would argue with the definition of what is a vegetable. As I was taught a fruit grows from a flower and has the seed inside it and a vegetable - doesn't. Therefore strawberries are most definitely a fruit as are tomatoes. If this is based on Desert Island Discs then the choice should be 8. However, Potato Onion Kale beetroot fennel
  5. There was a scheme at Kew Gardens where if you took your old christmas tree there for shredding you got free entry to the gardens.

anyone know what the 10cc is?
  10. I must be middle aged 'cos I think I'll stay where I am.
  11. and your point is?
  12. You guys are totally missing the point. I'm not saying it is a highly skilled job, nor am I saying other people don't do equally unpleasant jobs that deserve thanks. I was refuting the points made that a) they work short hours and b) they are quite well paid. Both of which have been made above. I don't understand what the issue is. Blimey, there was a thread some time ago about tipping hairdressers - they get paid too and the suggestion of tipping them didn't cause nearly as much fuss. Waiters get paid, cab drivers get paid why is there such an outcry at the thought of tipping other people once a year who do you a service.
  13. every week for a year? by the way, I looked into it and salaries for full-time refuse collectors are between 11-17k a year, i.e. not very much for a 37 hour week. you'd soon notice if they didn't come that's for sure.
  14. well, I've been a veggie for 30 years and I eat veggie sausages, they are convenient for a quick meal and make a change from spicy slop. It's just another shape to put soya protein into. I also make bolognese style sauce with minced TVP sometimes.
  15. It's that goats cheese is the stock option in restaurants for the veggies and it gets boring and lacks imagination.
  16. get an Icebreaker base layer, they are merino wool and can be worn casual as well as technical. Warm, wicking, odour free, machine washable. They do leggings too. Selfridges sell them or a good outdoor shop like Field & Trek in Covent Garden. They are expensive but very high quality and well worth it. A good base layer and then a couple of fleece layers with a windproof jacket on top. Hats and gloves essential.
  17. you're obviously not receptive MP
  18. when will they move in for the kill?
  19. I'm not entirely sure
  20. still waiting
  21. Yes! nothing like a roast (veggie) and several bottles of red after a night of excess. I can always eat. It was fun sitting with a jolly crowd scoffing away and feeling a bit fluffy whilst people wandered around looking at the antiques etc around us (depending on where the table was).
  22. Yes ???? was a regular there for Sunday lunch after a hard night's raving the night before.
  23. missed him now though haven't we.
