  1. Water leak on Langton rise and frozen over the past few days due to the freezing temperatures, Ditto on the Forest Hill Road entrance to The Woodvale Estate.
  2. The label says "if the light is flashing or an alarm is sounding there maybe a fault with the drainage device. In the event of this or any other emergency phone 08000562625" There may be a drainage problem hence the device has been installed will be my guess, ask the seller why it is there.
  3. There are multiple catalytic converter thefts just across the postcode boundary in SE23. About a week ago we had a hit and run accident with a mini being written off and a BMW X4 also being effectively written off.
  4. There are Thames Water works opposite the junction of Honor Oak Road on London Road (where the Esso Petrol station) is located, creating huge tailbacks up to the Horniman's Museum and then back along London Road and along Lordship Lane. This may be contributing to longer waits from the South Circular onto Lordship Lane.
  5. Chippy being worked on so hopefully open in the nearish future.
  6. Take a look over the border at SE23, house prices are dropping and a number of nice properties are currently up for sale at less than £1m and some being reduced as the market is slowing in a similar way to 2018, so a chance to buy something of decent size at a reasonable price. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/find.html?searchType=SALE&locationIdentifier=OUTCODE%5E2324&insId=1&radius=0.0&minPrice=&maxPrice=&minBedrooms=&maxBedrooms=&displayPropertyType=&maxDaysSinceAdded=&_includeSSTC=on&sortByPriceDescending=&primaryDisplayPropertyType=&secondaryDisplayPropertyType=&oldDisplayPropertyType=&oldPrimaryDisplayPropertyType=&newHome=&auction=false From what you have said you'll know the area, so worth a look around. SE23 is a bit cheaper than SE22 and possibly a bit greener with local parks, open spaces, places to shop and eat. Good luck.
  7. Funny how in the midst of the disaster that Royal Mail is they can still deliver Hello Fresh and Pizza menus but are incapable of delivering what people want, their post not this junk mail they continue to deliver.
  8. Gianluca Vialli: Former Chelsea, Juventus and Italy striker dies aged 58
  9. Opening four shops in different locations in six months is quite an undertaking, even more so in the current economic climate, can only hope it works out for them and a chippy in that part of Lordship Lane has to be a welcome addition?? https://www.josephsfishandchips.com/
  10. Try Pestgone, a local company who I have used in the past, did a great job for me.
  11. Hi KK, I swear by Sebo, also German made but not known as well by the public in the UK, have had the same machine for probably 30 years and it works just as well today as it did on day one. all I have to buy are bags and filters and it keeps on running. They also make cylinder vacuum cleaners. They are not the cheapest but would not buy any other make. https://www.currys.co.uk/search?q=sebo
  12. £20 an hour is reasonable.
  13. There will remain some type of postal system but it is likely that it will be further scaled back as Royal Mail have clearly demonstrated that it is both unreliable and their is a lack of caring about how items within the Royal Mail system are kept, i.e. outdoors in all weathers, resulting in some items probably being trashed. With postage rates continuing to rise, alternatives to Royal Mail will no doubt appear in addition to the existing courier companies. Likely to be a steady and gradual decline. And whilst I do not blame posties wanting increased wages for the job they do six days a week, management want to change working practices to make a profit, but am I not mistaken that they did make a profit in the last quarter whilst also managing to make a loss each day?? That doesn't compute. And the shareholders who get a pretty dividend at the expense of the Post system, does make you wonder!!!!!!!

  15. They are having a new shop done out across the road for Foxtons so guess they must be moving out from the current premises to the new shop. To be honest have only ever seen staff and no one else in the current Foxtons shop. So if they are leaving as it seems inevitable that they are, wold seem no reason to mis-trust the conversations so far saying Poundland will be taking over the premises.
  16. junction of Melford and Underhill, where the mini roundabout is.
  17. P13 and 363 on diversion due to Thames water works at junction of Underhill rd and Melford rd from 12/12 - 16/12. I got caught out on the P13 return trip from DKH Sainsbury's at lunch time today, further inconvenience to those that rely on these services, although earlier had got the P13 towards DKH Sainsburys from Langton Rise/Underhill Road stop. Taken from TfL website; "UNDERHILL ROAD, SE22: Route P13 is on diversion from 08:00 on Tuesday 13 December until 20:00 on Friday 16 December due to Thames Water works. Buses are diverted via Lordship Lane and Barry Road, missing the stops Whateley Road and Crystal Palace Road in both directions. MELFORD ROAD, DULWICH: Route P13 is on diversion between Dulwich Common/Lordship Lane Estate and North Cross Road via Lordship Lane due to a burst water main. Buses are not serving the stops Underhill Road/Melford Road, Belvoir Road, Langton Rise, Dunstans Road, Friern Road, Crystal Palace Road and Whateley Road. MELFORD ROAD, DULWICH: Routes 363 and N63 are on diversion between Peckham Rye/The Gardens and Lordship Lane/Wood Vale via Barry Road and Lordship Lane due to a burst water main. Buses are not serving the stops Friern Road, Dunstans Road, Therapia Road, Wood Vale/Forest Hill Road, Langton Rise, Melford Road, Underhill Road/Melford Road and Underhill Road."
  18. Article in tomorrows Daily Telegraph about how Royal Mail are (not) looking after our post (in Bristol) that is being left outside, uncovered from the weather and being gnawed by rats and a fox. Some of this is likely to be destroyed and never delivered. https://www.tomorrowspapers.co.uk/daily-telegraph-front-page-2022-12-14/
  19. Lots of Lime bikes at the junction with Peckham Rye, were laying on the ground during the week.
  20. You should be asked to complete a declaration that is stuck to the Royal Mail package, you tick a box to say its a present, hence no additional costs for he receiver.
  21. Question, how can someone remember word for word what was said as quoted in the transcript? It is not just colour of skin that gets comments, even if you have a non British surname, unfortunately indirect racism still takes place, sad but true. People who do it may not realise that those on the receiving end have clocked what is happening, but we DO. It demonstrates your arrogance, we put up with your "games", move on and outplay you in the long game.
  22. More disruption planned "Strike action is planned by Abellio and Metroline drivers in December. 23. I saw two Royal Mail vans on Underhill Rd lunchtime today doing deliveries so hopefully people will be getting some mail.
