  1. Ok so they hold 30 ? 40 more people. (Not in humane way I might add. Have you ever tried to get the no 12 home from central London at rush hour?) The thing is they take up the same amount of space on the road as 2 double-deckers. So for the same amount of road space taken up you can transport 160 people in double-deckers as opposed to 120 in concertinas. And you have the added bonus with double-deckers of those two busses being able to move independently and therefore not block off entire roads when they get stuck and free up traffic flow.
  2. The bit I heard on Jools Onland sounded a lot heavier than the old one.
  3. That?s what gets me about them. It is like trying to fit the 100 4 bedroom bungalows into the same space as 100 4 bedroom terraces. It is one of his policies I do agree with.
  4. The irony being that the build quality of 1960?s style council housing is much better than these ?modern luxury apartments?. I?ve lived in both.
  5. Perhaps it is just designed to inspire conversation on the current state of the arts.
  6. Actually after reading that properly I would like to change my earlier comment to say: "They should introduce an act of parliament banning estate agents from using adjectives and adverbs." Although I did get quite an amusing image of the courtyard enjoying the state-of-the-art bench.

  8. 1x pizza + 1x 2ltr bottle of coke + 2x DVD + 1x sofa. Consume slowly over the course of the morning and then go back to bed.

    Friday

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a most sincere and heartfelt, Happy Friday. It may be a bit longwinded for a mere weekend salutation but I have 5 minutes to kill and do so dearly not want to spend it on work. So may you wind-down slowly onto a silk-cushioned plateau of stress free comfort which will carry you through until Tuesday. May the beer be cold, may the queues at the butchers be cheerful, may the gurgling laughter of little angels never break into the banshee screams of brats and may the rain bugger off. And so it begins.

    Tory Britain

Politician throwing. Now there?s a sport I could get into.
  13. Well someone has to keep the pubs afloat in order to help ED maintain its individual character. Let it never be said that the members of this forum are all talk and no action.
  14. Wise words Quids. Wise words. But if I get to the bar and the barman says, ?If you are here to order beer or wine please press one. If you would like to hear about our specially selected range of cocktails please press two. If you just need someone to talk to please press three. If you are thinking of leaving the bar please press four. To repeat these options please press star. For everything else just wait there and we will ignore you until you give up and leave.? I?ll go spare I tell you!
  15. From what I can make out on the packet the ingredients are the same as alka-seltzer. Does it work better?
  16. I would just like to know if I am every going to be able to buy something new, sign up to a new service, open a new account, or anything without it NOT FUCKING WORKING PROPERLY and me being given the run-around. Just once would be nice. Ps. This is what I call a Falling Down Moment.
  17. Hope it works Anna. I have purchased me some of the aforementioned Resolve Extra and the aforementioned rehydration salts. All ready for the weekend. I?m never normally this prepared for anything in my life. :-S And now it looks like Saturday may be cancelled anyway.
  18. Is that an attempt to explain basic economics to Gordon Brown?
  19. Most men learn from their mistakes but wise men learn from others. ? Don?t know who said that or if I just made it up but it sounds the same as old Confucius there.
  20. What? You mean it isn't pronounced Bell End Road?
  21. You would be imagining me as a white square with a red cross in it followed by a URL. A bit surreal DC but then it is Friday and I suppose I brought the octopus.
  22. Or perhaps that it is better to brave the storm than to sit it out in a confined space with someone like me.
  23. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > AND itelligence doesn't mean anything compared to > common sense... ;-) I don?t know so much. If it is raining, common sense says that I should go inside. But sitting inside is boring unless I have something to think about. Like, where the rain comes from perhaps or what is rain or if there is water in the air all the time anyway is it really raining or is that just my opinion of our current position on the sliding scale of the air?s wetness. If this world was all about common sense we wouldn?t have anything interesting to talk about. Anyway back to regrets, Well I've had a few But then again To few to mention (Apologies if that has already bee done a gazillion times but I?m not reading back over this whole thread to check)
