  1. *Stares wistfully into the middle distance* "I see my future and in it I run a beer shop"
  2. Sainsbury's actually has a fair selection of British ales.
  3. I think the FHT is a good idea. I have also not been there since the refit (when was this exactly) and want to check it out.
  4. Death to cat haters (6)
  5. Well basically the government and the police are involved up to their necks in organised crime and they will not/cannot put any proper steps in place to combat it. A lot of it is coming to a head at the moment. I follow the SA news quite closely and these are definitely ?interesting times?. Ask me in the pub if you want to know more. I won?t clog this thread up with it. Problem is innocent people who are just trying to get on with their lives are the ones dealing with the consequences on a day-to-day basis.
  6. I?ve got a few people coming from weird and wonderful places like Beckenham and Croydon to watch it in ED. I don?t know whether to take them to the CPT or the Plough. The Plough is easier for people to find I guess but I prefer the CPT.
  7. Otto, Moe? Which episode are we talking about here people?
  8. The dog at the Drum is a much better publican than the one in the Bishop. The one in the bishop is all aloof and unfriendly whereas Blue (is that his name?) makes friends with everyone and is much more amiable.
  9. Bit of a downer this but it is not everyday you read the news and find out that one of your musical heroes has been killed in such an unnecessary way. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/7052050.stm This has just fucked my whole day up. I was feeling great this morning.
  10. Mr MacGabhann in the Conservatory with a pint of Guinness?
  11. I think I've seen them. In the conservatory? So you can sit there like it's your livingroom.
  12. spadetownboy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > but if its songs to > make the eyes moist danny boy by the one and only > daniel o donnell hits the spot for me and as for > pal of my cradle days by ann breen well pass me a > tissue. I make people cry when I try to sing Danny Boy but it is because of my inability to hit the high notes or get the accent right. Children throw stones and it sets the dogs a-howling too.
  13. Someone mentioned that they have put some tellies in the plough for the rugby. Are they sufficient? Will it be worthwhile watching the game there? Anyone watched one of the games there?
  14. I?m with you on it having to be cold there FO. English beer that is traditionally served not-that-cold tastes way better properly chilled. Badger First Gold in the bottle or London Pride in the bottle nicely chilled and best enjoyed along with your choice of whisky. Or am I just being a philistine?
  15. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2007/oct/18/ethicalliving.ethicalliving :'( :'( :'(
  16. Scouse pie?! Shepherd pie?! Good Lord! ::o
  17. The universal Them You know what they say they are watching you and they are out to get me.
  18. GOLDEN AXE! Brillaint game! I spent much pocket money down the local shops playing it when I was a kid. You can download a pretty good version for PC.
  19. I file television shows about property prices/development/climbing the ladder etc under ?Evils that should be stricken from this world? along with things like racism and child abuse. So when this came on last night and Mrs B wanted to watch it I retreated upstairs with a glass of whisky and a comic book and pretended it wasn?t happening.
  20. Double Dragon anyone?
  21. The Old Lounged Thread.
  22. What? Better than the CPT? It never does!
  23. I don?t know I kinda like them. Wouldn?t eat them regularly but they bring back fond childhood memories of playing football matches on cold, crisp winter mornings and then getting a hotdog and a fizzy drink from the ?snacks van?.
  24. Sean a ?a nice banger in a decent baguette? is a sausage in a bun. A hotdog is a processed meat ?sausage? in a white roll. It is basically just there to hold the tomato sauce and mustard that you have to drench it in to make it edible.
  25. Well we have to fill the hole in our lives somehow.
