No. 42 bus route extension consultation
Bic Basher replied to BrandNewGuy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If they can't get approval for using Red Post Hill, I wonder if they'll consider re-routing the 42 via Herne Hill, then via Route 37 along Half Moon Lane instead? -
Local Station Ticket Office Closures

Local Station Ticket Office Closures
Bic Basher replied to danielson00's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
danielson00 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Call me cynical but... it appears East Dulwich and > North Dulwich are not affected? That's correct, despite East Dulwich's ticket office being hidden and the ticket machines on the main road. -
It looks like as part of the refurbishment, they've now got a consultation room.
-
I wonder if they're also getting a new shop sign? That's been there a long time too.

How to download tv series for free
Bic Basher replied to Angelina's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I should have mentioned about the legality of torrents, to make it clearer. If you can, go for paid for online copies of the boxsets you need, so you can transfer to your kids device. DVD's tend to have copy protection to stop you doing that. -
I watch French TV using a Smart DNS proxy and a service on my Smart TV and PC called Zattoo Switzerland. The Swiss version gives you channels from France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, UK and Italy. Italian Channels on Zattoo are: RSI S1 (La 1) RSI S2 (La 2) Rai 1 Rai 2 Rai 3 Rai 4 Canale 5 Rai Sport 1 and 2 Rai News Rai Gulp Rai Scuola Rai Storia Italia 1 Rete 4 La 5 La 7 MTV Italy DMAX Italy Smart DNS Proxy costs around ?3.50pm and Zattoo is free, but the picture is average, but for ?5.70pm, you get some channels in HD and a 7 day catch-up of all programmes.

How to download tv series for free
Bic Basher replied to Angelina's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Legally, you have to pay for shows, so that the royalties go to the people who work on the show. However, it may be worth seeing if those shows are on YouTube. There are plenty of YouTube downloaders which will allow you to save YouTube clips to your hard drive. If not, you may find them as torrents. Google 'Torrent' to see how to get started. -
Worth noting that while all ISP's except Virgin use BT Openreach, Sky and TalkTalk have Local Loop unbundling (LLU) at the Dulwich exchange, which means they have their own direct connections to their own networks, while the rest use bandwidth sold by BT Wholesale. This is why for example, TalkTalk don't have traffic shaping where speeds are lowered for some users with other ISP's.

There has been an improvement in service since the Asian guys took over the shop and this appears to be the final part of the changes.

It really isn't a major issue. People go to Sainsbury's/Oliver Bonas to shop, not to hunt for celebrities.
-
At long last, Sadlers Pharmacy opposite Dulwich Library is getting a much required refit to bring it into the 21st Century. Can't say I'll miss the 80s furnishings, the random dolls they had on the shelves that they couldn't shift etc.
-
I really wouldn't bother with Virgin, the network is over capacity and there have been numerous complaints about speed on EDF and SE23.com. You're not too far from the BT exchange, so should get reasonable ADSL2+ speeds and fibre should be fine.

How about the West Dulwich sorting office in Alleyn Park, it's just off the Common near Dulwich College.

I think the problem is that the building is rather old and not modern enough to cope with the modern demands of parcel delivery, where as Peckham is. However, I hope that the staff don't have to walk from Peckham to some parts of ED, in particular the eastern end of LL which can take 45 minutes to walk to.
-
What's the size of the Forest Hill Sorting Office like? Seems a large modern building by the railway line.

Nothing about the SE17 sorting office.

Appreciated Foxy.

If like recent events on the Lordship Lane Estate that people had to travel to Silvester Road, which for some people is difficult enough, making people down that end travel to Peckham is even more difficult.
-
I live in College Ward and whenever I read about news about what's happening in the ward, it's always about the Kingswood Estate or West Dulwich station, yet I have no idea what's happening 5 mins down the road in ED ward.
-
Going by the map, it appears Overhill Road will be split between the new Dulwich Hill Ward and the shortened College Ward which becomes Dulwich Wood Ward. It still means that residents at the Grove end of Lordship Lane will share ward councillors with people who live in West Dulwich and the Kingswood Estate, rather than those who represent ED.

I believe the reason for sending the old H&I trains to West Croydon on Mon-Sat is so they can have a 7 min service between NXG and Sydenham and if H&I goes tits up, it won't affect Dalston Junction trains to Clapham Junction and New Cross.
