  2. The contract with TfL is soon up and October 2016 is when the new one starts.
  3. Think they also went into Paige and Hunter opticians on LL too and were in the Village.
  4. College is too big. There's no real connection between those of us who live in the SE22 part of the ward with those who live on the Kingswood Estate. Maybe a small extension to either ED Ward or Peckham Rye would be more representative for those who live there.
  5. Both the 37 and 484 are diverted alomg Peckham Rye, Barry Road and Lordship Lane.

  7. Lordship Lane Surgery as farrago mentions takes in a much wider intake of patients. They take anyone on who lives in SE15, SE16, SE17, SE18, SE19, SE20 SE21, SE22, SE23, SE24. At one point, they accepted patients from across Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, so have a much wider patient intake. 306 Medical Centre down the road has a smaller catchment area and may be more to your needs or if you live in and around Peckham Rye, The Gardens.
  8. James, My mother used to collect her pension at the old post office next to Sainsbury's Local, since it moved to Costcutter, she's had to travel on a bus to the main branch at 76 LL as they never have enough money to give her in cash as the float is shared with the shop. Can anything be done to reassure especially older people that they don't have to travel far to get their pension?
  9. As well as the branch closing, it's the loss of three cashpoints on a ever busy high street that is also a concern. It'll only empty the ATM's at Barclays (3), the Co-op (1)and the Post Office (1) even quicker.
  10. Here are some reviews of the LL Surgery on NHS Choices. http://www.nhs.uk/Services/GP/Overview/DefaultView.aspx?id=35624
  11. Are the buses going back along Grove Vale?

I live down that end and registered with 306 Medical Centre. Can't complain about them really and will try and squeeze you in for an emergency appointment, although best to ring at 8am.
  13. While I mainly use online banking, I still need to visit a physical branch for certain issues.

London Bridge is closed for Southern on Boxing Day, otherwise is open for our trains. http://www.southernrailway.com/southern/news/major-changes-to-southern-services-this-christmas/

  17. Most banks now offer a basic banking service at the Post Office. I've been able to withdraw cash at the new Costcutter PO by the library.
  18. ed_pete Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And yet Barclays maintain a branch in the Village, > on Lordship Lane and in Peckham. It's two branches in Peckham. The existing one at the Peckham Rye end of Rye Lane and the former Woolwich branch opposite HSBC. Both Barclays and HSBC have been closing branches or reducing hours. Forest Hill Barclays no longer opens on Wednesday and HSBC recently closed in Penge. As for the Village Barclays, it could be debated that the customers are affulent enough to keep it a viable branch, despite not offering an ATM. That could be down to our friends at the Dulwich Estate.
  19. And to think they recently increased their cashpoints to three to meet demand. Backward thinking from 'The World's Local Bank"
  20. You can pre-pay credit onto you Amazon account online as well. I had a delivery yesterday from Amazon Logistics, the courier knocked on the door, left the parcel by the door and was already walking off when I opened the door.

Denmark Hill gets 3tph. Two from Dartford which stop at Peckham Rye, a third from Dover Priory.
  22. As mentioned above, never use public wi-fi for ordering goods or online banking. There are people who scan those services who will hack into your personal data. If you have to, change your passwords as soon as possible or use your mobile data instead.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if > that's permanent? It is. A change at Surrey Quays will be required if you wish to travel further up, but shouldn't be any more than 4 minutes. The changes are due to Southern recasting their own services this December, which has led to all the Highbury trains running via Forest Hill.
  24. In other Overground related news, from December, the trains via Peckham Rye will terminate at Dalston Junction rather than Highbury & Islington.
  25. Considering Twickenham has a Lidl and a Poundland and is still very posh, I can't see why we can't have one?
