  1. I didn't see any conductors on the two buses I saw today.
  2. I went past the cinema today and it really doesn't look like it'll open in April, although I'm pleased the exterior windows and paintwork appear to have been completed. I'm sure it'll be worth the extended wait once the cinema opens.
  3. The first Boris Bus is out on the 12 today. Don't panic as the majority of buses are still the normal ones.
  4. Did you use a local shop to pay for goods with the card?
  5. I use Unblock US, which allows me to switch Netflix regions, which gives me a wider range of shows and films to watch. I recommend Netflix Canada which has a broader range of world cinema titles.
  6. Discovered this interesting video on the BBC website, featuring the main candidates from the Dulwich/W Norwood seat. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-30900584
  7. Since James last posted, Morrisons have put on hold their M Local expansion and closing 23 existing stores.
  8. Depending on which end of Barry Road you get the bus from, it may be worth getting the 197 to Forest Hill and then get on the Overground. There are more trains from Forest Hill and HOP than from Peckham Rye on the Overground.
  9. 37 to Herne Hill or P4 to Loughborough Junction Thameslink to Farringdon Circle or Hammersmith and City line to Ladbroke Grove.
  10. More chance of Network Rail and Southern buggering it up than some protesters.
  11. On the tv. Stargazing Live, 9am on BBC1. London Live News from 8.30am on London Live.
  12. It depends on the route whether they get the 'conductors', the 148 from Camberwell Green doesn't have them at all, with the rear platform door only open at bus stops.
  13. The Boris buses are terrible to ride in the summer months. They trap the heat in. despite the open rear platform (which incidentally is closed outside of weekday daytimes, depending on the route) with dodgy air conditioning. Like the bendy buses, they also give the opportunity for fare fidders and all types of undesirables to board, something which has been eradicated when the normal double deckers returned.
  14. I find it safer (just) to walk slightly down the common by the Lordship Lane Estate and walk through there. There's also a traffic island by Fireman's Alley.
  15. No confirmed date from TfL, but I understand 12 bus drivers are already training using the Boris Bus/New Bus for London. However, it's expected that they'll be gradually introduced onto the 12 by the end of March.
  16. Bonjour Sophie Ma m?re est moiti? fran?ais et habite dans ED.
  17. Also worth remembering that Stonegate Pubs were the last leaseholders of The Grove.
  18. Cora Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes agree, woolly....does 'greater use of access > arrangements' mean more sending patients to New > Cross for appointments!.... Indeed. Since the Hurley Group practice in Peckham is no longer a walk-in surgery and now a bog standard practice.
  19. As mentioned, The Grove in it's various incarnations was busy at weekends for the restaurant. I remember going into the pub area when it was a Harvester. It had zero atmosphere and felt like the restaurant side was subsidising the lesser used pub. When Wetherspoons opened the Capitol in Forest Hill, that took customers from the neighbouring streets and estates into Forest Hill for cheap drink.
  20. I wouldn't define an area which is next to Dulwich Park and Sydenham Hill Woods as a "crappy area" Personally I'm surprised the retail area along there hasn't got a Tesco Express or Sainsburys Local, although those stores are around a 10 min walk from The Grove in either direction.
  21. I was going to mention Virgin's traffic management policy. However as this only applies to uploads on the 30MB and above packages, you shouldn't be getting these issues. http://my.virginmedia.com/traffic-management/traffic-management-policy-30Mb-or-higher.html
  22. Whenever I've gone past the cash office on the Walworth Road, it's always busy with people paying for council services.
  23. Have a look at Cadet Rouselle in Herne Hill, you may need to email them first to enquire about the nursery. http://www.cadetrousselle.co.uk/
  24. When I went past, an old bloke had a sneaky look as well. From what I could see too, it was far from ready.
  25. The take-away prices are staggering. http://www.theseacow.co.uk/menu.html
