  1. A consultation has opened regarding the move of the current sub PO at 369 Lordship Lane, to Costcutter opposite Dulwich Library. The plan is to re-open it as a new style post office, similar to the branch at WHSmith at Forest Hill. The proposed opening times include opening at 7am weekdays, all day Saturday and Sunday's as well and subject to planning permission, a wheelchair ramp would be built. If accepted, the move would commence May/June 2015. More details at https://www.postofficeviews.co.uk/branchlocator.php?query=Lordship%20Lane&frmnd=listofpostoffices
  2. More information on Southwark's website about the continuing water supply issues. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/blocks
  3. The diversion route signs for bus drivers are already up. I suspect the only route which will serve ED station and DKH over the weekend will be the P13.
  4. No mains water now, so not even a low pressure supply into the flat now.
  5. All I was told that Southwark would be sending out more contractors, this was at 5pm. I'm not expecting anything to improve until tomorrow, this despite Southwark claims they hope to have the water on tonight.
  6. Still no water at 5pm, caused by a burst water main in Dulwich Common, which is affecting Campbell and Glennie Court on the Lordship Lane Estate. Thames Water's 'Live' section of their website has been nothing short of useless.
  7. Southwark Council claim in a text that the fault has been repaired, yet I still have no water. 11.30 update. Southwark Council in a phone conversation with me claim that a value is being replaced and Thames Water are on site.
  8. I called the council and they claim there's a problem with a storage tank on our block. Mains water is running, but now lost hot water and can't flush the loo.
  9. Is anyone else experiencing low water pressure? I'm on LL by the Common and Court Lane.

If services operated well at full timetable > bewteen easter and august bank holiday last year > with 2 platforms out and one remaining closed, how > is this an issue? The issue is to do with the approaching tracks into London Bridge, until Christmas there were 6 tracks into London Bridge at Bricklayers Arms. This was reduced to three as the other tracks are being demolished to construct a dive under as part of the Thameslink programme. So trains coming from the Sydenham line and South Bermondsey all have to share the three approacing tracks into LB. This will increase to 4 in 2016.
  11. The dish LNB has at least a quad (4 ports), so that extra cable can be run directly to your multiroom box. Remember that the multiroom box has to be permanently connected to a phone line, so have a think about that too.
  12. I had one of those letters. It's to persuade residents to pay using DD instead of cash, debit card etc. Ignore it.
  13. The shop part of the PO moved across to the shop on the corner of Landells Road and LL, but has closed since the scaffolding part was deemed unsafe and an accident occurred inside the new shop. Work has been happening to make the structure safe. However, the fruit and veg part of the shop in the PO has returned temporarily. It's still uncertain if and when the Post Office will have to leave that site.
  14. I won't spoil Spiral for others either, but I'd urge newbies to get the 1-4 boxsets. The Tunnel is good, although not in the same league.
  15. From what I can gather, the 63, 176, 197 and P13 aren't running at all today. The rest are running some kind of a service, although I ended up getting the 40 as the gaps in service on the 185 are huge.
  16. 12, 40, 185, 363 and P4 are showing some form of service today. No 176, 197 or P13 at all.
  17. I've walked from Peckham to the Elephant in less than an hour. Oval station is also worth trying to walk to. At a brisk pace, 45mins to an hour to ED.
  18. Trains are operating tomorrow. Buses is a case of checking Countdown before setting off. You may find a resemblance of a bus service on some of the affected routes during one part of the day as non-union drivers are rostered on, but when their shift ends, it may be out of service. London Overground from Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye, Forest Hill or HOP will accept bus passengers over reasonable routes.
  19. During the last major strike, I remember a couple of 197's running until mid-afternoon and that was it.
  20. Peckham Morrisons.
  21. It's probably a spambot. We've had a couple of these recently.
  22. The rules were changed recently that if a local GP had no bookings, you are now referred to the Lister.
  23. At least the 12 is able to pick up and drop off at The Aylesham Centre stop in Rye Lane.
  24. Normally when buses are diverted, drivers will normally drop passengers off in Copeland Road at the junction of Bournemouth Road for Peckham Rye station and Clayton Road at the bus stand for the town centre.
