  1. Peckham Plex will still be open for those of us who'd rather pay ?4.99.
  2. Oyster Cards can be shared if they only have PAYG on them. If the card has a discount photocard or railcard added, or a season pass, then they can't be shared.
  3. Can Can girls leaving Boulangerie Jade?
  4. The 36 also runs 24 hours a day. Route 197's final buses from East Croydon to Peckham are at 0033 and 0053, so worth the suggestion above.
  5. I think there are various factors to why that constituency has the highest amount of bus users in the country. Rail services are on the fringe of the area and compared to somewhere like Forest Hill have less regular services. It's viable to use the bus as an alternative to the train to central London. As Jeremy mentions, it's still a deprived part of London. The buses connect to Oval, Vauxhall and Elephant & Castle tube stations. In the case of the Elephant, it can work out cheaper to travel to the Elephant or Vauxhall on the bus and pay ?2.20 single on the tube for a Zone 1 journey in the morning peak. Anyone who has travelled on a bus along the Walworth Road or Camberwell New Road can say the buses are always packed.

  7. According to TfL, Lordship Lane is currently closed at the junction of Colwell Road. Any news on what happened?
  8. Another tip for parents with children who lose their Zip Oyster cards is to buy a couple of Oyster cards and put at least ?10 on them as spares. This will come in handy, especially for children who look older than they are. Children aged 10 or under can travel still without any card.

If the driver refuses to let your son board, make sure they get the details of the bus and then you can call TfL to complain. It's more likely they'll let him board if he's in uniform. I'd still get the Zip card application in ASAP if he loses it mind.
  11. Camberwell and Peckham. 21.7% according to Election Data on Twitter. https://twitter.com/election_data/status/486429566203072512

My guess is, like they did > with congestion charge, they next try to move away > from people being able to top up in shops at all. I don't think it's that much if any. The incentive for the shop is increased footfall as the customer purchases goods from the shop in addition to their Oyster PAYG or travelcard. It's the same for those who offer Paypoint and Payzone which handle utility and mobile phone payments.
  13. the-e-dealer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > BB is that an opinion or do know this is a fact? It's a fact. As part of the changes, TfL have trained bus drivers to look out for who are considered 'vulnerable' passengers, these include children who can board without a Oyster card if it's lost. It does mean that some will chance it, but this is the price for cashless buses.

  15. On the 12 today, a couple got on with Oysters, one went green, the other went red. Driver didn't bat an eyelid and let them both board.

One London Overground train per weekday goes to Battersea Park late in the evening. Otherwise you have to change at Clapham Junction for the mainline station at Victoria or Battersea Park. There's also the option of changing at Clapham High Street for the Northern line at Clapham North, then changing for the Victoria line at Stockwell.
  17. We're lucky here that we have plenty of places to top up at newsagents and the rail stations, yet there are other parts of London where they don't have as many places.
  18. And so the fun begins on this bus elsewhere in London.

  22. Has anyone else noticed a change in the attitude of the couriers and the customer service when receiving your packages from them? I had a nice courier deliver to me and even offered to put the package inside my flat as it was too heavy. Is this a one-off or are Yodel still farcical in ED?
  23. Sainsbury's clothes section re-opens on Saturday.
  24. Someone else who isn't Malcolm has posted on the SE23.com forum which sort of backs up his claim.
