As a CP Rd resident I welcome the refurb work, but a couple of points- We received no notification about the work (nor did our neighbours). Even a sign put up in the road informing residents, and all those who use CP Rd as a rat-run, about the impending disruption would have been useful. Then, yesterday morning a large stone slab in our front path (actually the threshold between our path and the pavement, but inside our front gate and on our property) lifted and cracked into several pieces when a JCB was ripping up the old tarmac pavement. These cracked pieces now wobble underfoot and as a result my four year old tripped over and fell when returning from nursery in the afternoon (no injury, but it could have been nasty). This morning on the way out I asked the workmen for the broken pieces to be made level and stable when they're laying the new paving slabs. They agreed at the time, but who knows? It'll be interesting to see what state my path and the pavement will be in when I return this evening.
