It's ...

An easy ( see below ) vehicle for knocking the BBC

A civil demonstration in a country renowned for them, taken over by violence & murder, of which 99.9% protesters are rightly appalled by

I heard it on "BBC London" as the event progressed, from Greek reporters on the phone at the event

How's that played down by the BBC then..?

W**F

"The whole of Greece is uprising against the capitalist dynasty"?

No. Its a traditional annual May Day march made somewhat more pointed by Greece's economic woes, with the usual anarchists jumping on the band-wagon and causing some mayhem.

Tragically, innocent people died.

The BBC were as ever, even handed. Its not the BBC's job to wave the red flag from the battlements.

This is the way it starts Jenny. First is a post "Just for fun" - next thing you know you will be asked to storm the gates of Downing Street, on your own, with the rest of the Brothers and Sisters sat at home, watching the TV, cheering you on, in comfort.

Er, have you been listening to any BBC radio output - especially R4 and World Service, looked at any BBC News front page or seen a BBC TV news bulletin recently? The story has been dealt with very comprehensively. As for the BBC playing it down so as not to cause a copycat reaction here, well, that's not even laughable. The coverage has included revolutionaries calling for an overthrow of the govt as well as from the rulers and from 'ordinary folk' caught up in teh middle. So, do a search and have a look at iPlayer and see what you can find.

Ugh. Yoof anarchists today - don't know anything. If you want your spray paint message to last, it's Plasti-Kote or nothing.

Next you'll be saying that Doc Martin's aren't worth the bother (or is that bovver?) and any pair of big, heavy boots are fine.

Honestly. There are rules to this anarchy thing you know.

WoD asks where did it all go wrong??

A somewhat contentious subject I know but after being conquered by the Turks the ancient Greeks were supplanted by their own slave immigrants (=slavs) who along with colonising Albanians now form the majority of the population.

Heh, heh. jenny1840 you know as much about history and philosophy as you do about politics. The word 'anarchy' is derived from a Greek word, but they didn't invent the concept.

Next you'll be telling that the ancient Greeks got together with the Romans and invented the television.

he ho hi di hi hoopla to you too , you obviously Know less than how to type wik waky pedia into your PC.

Polemics is derived from the Greek word Polemikos; a favoured debating technique practised by Greek chatterboxes in robes. Now run off and take that silly orange triangle down off your fence, or better still paint it blue. And don't ask me to explain the polemics connection to you either.

    • You literally just edited your earlier reply to remove the point you made about it being “politicians”.  Then you call me pathetic.    I’m  not trying to say you approve any of the ugly right wing nonsense.  But I AM Saying your earlier post suggesting  violent rhetoric being “left wing” was one-sided and incorrect
    • I never said that. Saying I don’t like some of the rhetoric coming from the left doesn’t mean I approve of Farage et al saying that Afghans being brought here to protect their lives and thank them for their service means there is an incalculable threat to women.    Anything to score a cheap point. It’s pretty pathetic.
    • To be fair we are as hosed as the majority of other countries post-Covid. The problem is Labour promised way too much and leant in on the we need change and we will deliver it and it was clear to anyone with a modicum of sense that no change was going to happen quickly and actually taking the reigns may have been a massive poison- chalice. As Labour are finding to their cost - there are no easy answers.  A wealth tax seems straightforward but look how Labour have U-turned on elements of non-dom - why? Because the super rich started leaving the country in their droves and whilst we all may want them to pay more tax they already pay a big chunk already and the government saw there was a problem.
    • You don’t think there are right-wing politicians fanning this with rhetoric? Really?
