When governments treat us as stupid, when there are cameras everywhere making us feel over-watched, when we feel completely bombarded by signs saying Do Not Do That and Do Not Do This and even on the toilet doors in pubs and public conveniences telling you to flush the toilet, and when one writes helpful useful posts in here only to have some tw@ make daft and unhelpful comments, one is not surprised that people will behave in a juvenile fashion as a result.

Since you asked! And welcome to this otherwise fabulous forum. Take what you want from it and ask not what your forum can do for you, but what you can do for your forum. And when you try to do good on it, be not surprised at the wankers who write shit in your thread ;) ;)

So I understand that freedom of expression is good and censorship is bad. This is why I gave up on another forum just up the road.

But flip me. What is the point of starting threads if many of you lot just go off on some childish banter.

I start a thread about exciting journeys interested in some eclectic experiences. Oh no, someone has to say Penge, and that sounds like minge. Ho flippin ho. Three posts about journeys, 30 posts about minge.

I ask about my sister's 40th present, in all innocence. But how long does is take for someone to suggest a sex toy. Oh I have just wet myself that was just too amusing.

I try to gauge the age and background of the audience. Some sound actually quite mature and sensible. Not all from the Nuts, Oasis get your boobs out for the lads, nonsense. Really not sure any more. Someone inspire me please.

So what you're saying is 'grow up'? It might help if you didn't use the superior-sounding, pompous and embarrassingly self-reverential term "you lot" quite so often.

In my defence I suggested teeth whitening, did you go for that one?

And while we are at it. Your posts/op's can (like the one in question) sound so flippin patronising

Seriously, do you not read them back and think, "How do I sound here?"

If not, pm them to me and i'll rate them for you on my Knob-O-Meter

    • There's quite a difference between going for a run around the footpaths and trying to sit quietly for an afternoon in a wide, grassy area and enjoying the peace & nature. The other two grassy areas in the park are used for sports, and both had barriered trackway running through them. The Parkrun had to be cancelled for at least three weeks, iirc. I'm concerned by your continued reference to "the rye" - the event is held in the park, not on the rye (common). There is a big difference, despite the organisers and council artificially amalgamating the whole area when trying to convince everyone that it's only a small area that is closed off. The railings & gates enclosing the park are a big clue...
    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
    • I thought I noticed the shop being redecorated the other day when I passed. Also the old Romeo Jones had some works going on, I think
    • Leon came to sort out a lighting issue for us last week.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave clear, detailed advice about how to avoid in future.  Would highly recommend him.
