DJKQ is the first person in the world to accuse the Obama administration of neo-conservatism! You heard it here first!

Seems that Obama is a Muslim/neo-con/immigrant all at once! Poor guy must be mighty confused. Go and speak to Donald Trump DJKQ - perhaps you can both wear tin-foil hats to protect you from the governments mind-probes.....

What evidence do you have that he was blown to bits and not shot?. His body was carted off to Afghanistan (a landlocked country) before then being dumped at sea. So I'm assuming it was largely intact and not blown to shit.

I just think it was a dumb move because it just fuels the fire for future theories.

Whilst I'm no conspiracy theorist, it's hardly surprising that after all the lies around Iraq and the blatant deceit of trying lo link Saddam to 9-11 that no one believes a word the president says, so profoundly has the institution been damaged, first by Clinton and then much more severely by Bush.

That said it would be fankly bizarre to make this claim now under a false pretence.

I do agree that in terms of PR it has been handled woefully badly and the decision to 'bury at sea' without so much a snapshot released to bolster the claim is very odd indeed.

It does leave you wondering if he's really in some dank cellar in Colombia or Saudi Arabia with some nasty outsourced men getting medieval on his ass.

It seems unlikely that Bin Laden would have been 'found' now for political reasons. There have been plenty of other times historically where it would have been expedient to find him, not least for the Dubya legacy.

I tend to agree in general with the points about the dumping of the body at sea, but not for the same reasons.

It's an obligation under Islam to bury bodies within 24 hours, and the outcry if this hadn't taken place would have been extremely destructive. Hence whether it was dumped or not dumped it needed to be seen to be disposed of. A land burial would have risked becoming a shrine or the body being dug up again for any number of unhelpful reasons, so was out of the question.

I don't really see the benefit of holding the body if it can't be used for propaganda purposes. I mean what are they going to do? Examine the brain for evidence of evil?

So on balance if there was a body, I think they probably wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible.

That doesn't mean he's not somewhere extremely unpleasant at some uncomfortable midpoint between life and death.

No I did not....talk about reading what you want to read.....I referred to the previous administration. Get it right.

I think that the lack of proof along with the past behaviour of American adminstrations is the issue here isn't it. Because the only people who are really going to benefit from the use of conspiracy theories are surely the Jihadists themselves. Without proof they can always claim, as they have done before, that Osama Bin Laden is alive and well. We've had no end of fake videos with lookalike impersonators for example over the past years.

EXACTLY. Where are the photos/video footage?? So the US authorities say his DNA was a 100% match to that of his relatives...proof please?? Could have been anyone of his relatives in that compound he had about 300 offspring!

Frierntastic... I'm a 32 year old woman I don't need to be deemed as 'cool' - as you put it - to be 'anti-establishment'. Seriously, get over yourself mate.

Captured, killed, given a religious funeral and buried at sea within in 24 hours my backside..

Whatever you think of the US administration, they are not stupid enough to make this announcement without it being correct.

Whether he has been captured or indeed killed will keep conspiraloons going for decades.

A dead Bin Laden avoids any messy aftermath & further opportunities for PR & agitation by the AQ franchise.Whether there was any attempt to capture him alive is a further debate - though I would suggest that it was accepted that he was going to be executed if captured alive anyway. Another Che.

Where's the conspiracy?

The US was never going to let him get away. Buried at short notice at sea to avoid a shrine, preferred dead than captured for obvious reasons, pictures to follow. A sad case of imperial might vs theocratic fascism.

The best, and I admit entirely unlikely solution, was for a FOX/SKY televised, Bin Laden vs Rumsfeld, no holds barred bore-a-thon. Keep shouting and gesticulating until a meaningless fatigue sets in and Rumsfelds known-unknowns segue beautifully into Bin Ladens promise of a glorious afterlife. Then we could all go to bed and wake up again, same as it ever was.

Give me the old fashion drawn and quarter method, and send his parts to all the Al qaeda cells as a deterrent

    • Why is the name a big of a red flag? Blighty is a common name for the UK whatever people might think.
    • The only election which counts is the General Election.  There is still strong resentment for fourteen year's of Conservative rule. They squeezed the working class's way to hard, then they squeezed the middle class, but somehow the upper class never got touched, funny that.   There is also new resentment for Labour because of the utter balls up they've made of things since coming to power nine months ago. The majority of the population (or at least those with an ounce of common sense) want these clowns out of office ASAP because they see the damage they are doing to UK plc. They squeezed the pensioners, then the farmers and then business. They made and broke promise after promise, or just didn't tell the truth or say what they where going to do, otherwise known as merely lying to get elected. Inflation may be falling but the cost of things in the shops and utility bills keep on rising, the direct opposite of what they promised. They will never be trusted once they are ousted from power in about four and a half years time.   Everything they do and touch causes further harm, led by three stooges, Rayner, Reeves and balls'less Starmer, who couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. He still thinks he's a solicitor at the DPP. Rather than spending week upon week getting involved in international politics he needs to be sorting out the UK's issues, sadly he's not up to the job and nor are his Cabinet.  Society needs a mix of people with different skills to prosper, not more and more graduates who can't get jobs in what they studied in.   Reform is the current anti establishment party, which will hopefully wither away back to where it came from.  The Liberals and Greens, well what can you say apart from using them as another alternative vote of dissatisfaction, but neither will come to power.  The country seriously needs stability and a Government that stands up for and represents it's people, not what MP's want but what the constituencies want and need.  Government needs to become far more open and transparent, it needs to be seen to be doing its job, doing what MP's are elected to do,  working for the people in the constituencies, getting back to basic principles and rebuilding the trust which has been lost by successive party's immaterial of them being, red, blue, light blue, yellow, green or some other colour.
    • That’s very insulting! You are basically calling 17 million people that voted to leave the EU ‘thick’.        Brexit happened Sue.  Boring graphs!  Calling Nigel Farage a plastic patriot is also very insulting seeing as he and the Reform Party have had a landslide victory all over England.
    • These charity collectors are often classed as chuggers.  It can be scandalous that the charity/admin may keep a huge percentage of your donations and a tiny percentage is  actually given to the charity.   I can not speak for individual collectors - but it common practice.
