Would be interesting to run a sub thread from this to see how many of us are home based.

I understand Bob, you're quite right. But jacking it in is a huge risk in our modern Bushwellian new improved world with added Al Queda. It's like standing on the edge of precipice except in reality its everything you've achieved (no matter how little) on one side versus everything you stand to lose including relationships and being stigmatized by society as a failure because you dared. The truth is by taking the plunge you strengthen the relationships that really matter and weed out the dross.

Creative stuff: Design, interactive development (not web stuff), lots of thinking about all things visual and putting them on paper (or screen), basically. And a bit of project management.

My job title is 'The CreativeSomeone', which kind of sums up the fact I do all sorts!

You should live in Vauxhall then....

Which is a seemless segway into my job as a freelance motoring photographer/writer. (Mainly Classic Cars stuff...so if anyone has anything interesting give me a shout! Also if you drive a Merc, any age, then give me a PM, as I write about them also....)

That could be why this forum is so successful. There are lots of people on here who are.

A - Opinionated

B - Lazy

C - Both

It makes for good reading.

Let?s be honest, estate agents would probably fill it with baddly speld threads about silk ties and how to avoid the speed cameras on the South Circular.

    • The MFI was probably where Iceland is now. This post makes me feel very old - went to a 30th birthday party in the garden at the back. Oh to be 30 again!
    • Anyone upgraded their TV for Christmas?! I'm looking for a smallish Smart TV I can use with earbuds. Not more than 56cm high and  25cm deep. A 26" one used to fit.  Thanks!
    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
