All Bar One is looking for ED home/Franklins organics in LL (Lounged)

MitchK, I totally disagree.

Replacing ordinary supermarkets with more expensive shops selling luxury goods is not beneficial for the whole community, just some sections of it.

And higher property prices are not necessarily "good", at least not for the people who want to make this area their long term home rather than exploit it with short to medium term property investments.

SE22 was really good - and they used to play great jazz on Sunday lunchtimes.

Er... Keef All Bar One do not own the Phoenix Denmark Hill Station. That is owned by Mitchell and Butlers, owned by er, I've lost track of who owns who now. All Bar One might be part of that lot now. Come to think of it the Shite Fart in Crystal Palace. Oops that was a genuine typo, I think deserves to be left, please excuse the guff, is a Mitchell and Butlers as well. As is the Commercial in Herne Hill and The Gipsy Moth in Greenwich and and... They have many dotted around. Their signature is they try to appear independent. They are not. They are a chain. Like All Bar ONe.

Sorry if this is filling in on stuff that's already been pointed out. I just get pissed off that few people actually know anything accurate when it comes to the pub trade. It's full of myth and nonesense. Which I enjoy adding to. And kind of hate and love working in.

    • Your point?  Why did you buy it, don't you have a mind of your own??
    • Me and my wife went to Holland & Barrett yesterday and bought some protein powder for our 16-year-old grandson who is going to the gym at The Dulwich Leisure Centre regularly with his friends. We chose a different brand for him as his usual was unavailable and noticed that it had 18 on the packaging. When we checked with the two assistants they just asked if he had taken it before and when we said yes, they said that it was OK for him.  Doing some research online today we now know it is not safe for him and can cause kidney damage.  We didn't know about this before as his friends were all taking it too so we thought it was fine. Those assistant mislead us and that's very wrong of Holland & Barrett, they just wanted the sale of £13.50. We will be making a complaint to their head office.
    • It's standard procedure by all accounts.  Airports are very different to routine policing.  Obviously they may reconsider procedures particularly due to the negative publicity. Sadly social media (and streaming) has facilitated fake news, mistruths, toxic behaviour and hate crime. As for banter and irony, I know too well that what I think is a funny comment on this site may be misinterpreted.  Lineham has quite a long history of saying things that many will find offensive.
    • I don't think they were armed specifically  to arrest him. I think airport police are routinely armed? However I agree the rest of it was absolutely ridiculous and completely out of proportion to the supposed "crime". The Met commissioner had it right.
