@SMG......as I hate quoting a whole bloody post if it's quite long

LO can legally object (and will do if necessary) to either WH or Spurs moving into the stadium due to it's proximity to their ground. It would be a scandal if the stadium did not have an athletics track. Given the crap FIFA dished out with the WC bidding malarky, it would make GB no better with its legacy promises. Why has nobody (it would appear) thought of retractable seating so the running track could be covered for football and taken away for an athletics meet.

Old Orient won't get 40,000 fans but part of the WH bid includes selling tickets for next to nothing to the locals so they can fill it.

Now that did make me smile for the first time this week!! :))

That seems a better option for a club of Orients size.

And those cheap tickets are to be sold through local schools. I think that seems entirely reasonable as football increasingly vanishes off the radar of all but the wealthiest people.

It's all about self interest to all parties though. I have mixed views about leaving Upton Park but recognise that the club can't grow situated where it is. Match days are chaos, one local tube and miles of traffic congestion, I'm sure it puts people off going, along with the prices of course. (?65 for a ticket to see Liverpool, top price but still.)

At least West Ham are doffing their cap to the legacy but still stand to benefit from the tailor made transport network, oh and Westfield for when the footy's shite.

Tottenhams bid is pure self interest as well, with no real link to the legacy. They want a ready made transport link, something that their existing new stadium plans don't have and proximity to Canary Wharf and the City for lucrative corporate sponsorship.

I have a horrible feeling that the city might swing it Tottenham's way.

Well let's face it Chavski have only had any real success in the last 6 years. Interesting to see that their players actually made an effort last night. Do you think the two new arrivals might have something to do with it?

So El-Hadji Diouf has gone to Glasgow Rangers. Good riddance is all I can say. Anything could happen in the Old Firm derby on Sunday if he plays especially seeing as he once got a ban for spitting at a Celtic supporter. So, what I'm wondering is two things. How long will he be able to keep the saliver in his mouth? And at what point in the match will he be sent off?

Will they risk starting him, or has he been taken on just to wind up the Celtic faithful?

Important win for Arsenal last night, of all their remaining matches they only have two "hard" games, Man Utd and Liverpool and both of them are at home - 3/1 odds to win the league look generous - especially as Utd and Chelsea likely to progress in Champions League and Arsenal unlikely to.
I've told you before and I won't tell you again. No no no no no no no no no no Annasfield. NO NO NO NO NO. Just because you don't want Man Utd to equal your title winning record and Liverpool have no chance this season it's no excuse to want the Gooners to win it.

:)) Thanks Anna, may your god go with you.

Unbearable moi Keef? How very fucking dare you! I never said we'd win anything this season but if we do and we're out of everything else it'll be the Champions League and if we win that (unlikely as it may seem to some of you) I think Spurs fans everywhere will certainly have the bragging rights to be unbearable.

Ahem, a win this season would surpass their record...

Personally I like the Spurs and after the years in the wilderness it's nice to see them doing well. COYS (after United of course). Obviously I'd like to see United winning the CL as well but it would be an amazing story if Spurs won it. I'd be happy for them.

    • Don't know why but it seems like there have been impromptu fireworks since early September. At one point I even wondered if there was a shooting range or something like that over Dulwich Hamlet way- the direction where the firework sounds seem to be coming from? Is there some kind of new, fireworks craze going on and where are people getting them, out of season?
    • Hello, I have your cat!!! I can't find a contact number but mine is 07845 277923.
    • Hi everyone, thanks so much for taking the time to come back on my thread - hearing all your responses has been very helpful.    I’ve tried some of the suggestions you shared about how to improve the connection but they don’t seem to make too much difference so I think we are probably in a dead spot unfortunately. I’ll keep trying though and hopefully it will get a bit better.    Coincidently, I found out yesterday that BT fibre broadband is coming to East Dulwich soon which should much improve the WiFi signal available in the area so I’m planning to switch to that as soon as it arrives. Fingers crossed! If you’re interested to hear how it is, feel free to message me and I can let you know.    Thanks again for all your help!
    • If you want to self cater and do it yourself, why not try one of the rooms in a church..  one I am thinking about has a huge room with kitchen and toilets… parking on site.. and another one worth considering is the church near Dulwich Library , top of Barry Road..  pm if you want more info and of course.. all the pubs on Lordship Lane. if you want further afield, Rosendale Pub has rooms above bar area that you can also hire…  Alleyns Head also good - section off a section of the pub for  your sole use and parking on site.. although, might not work if try want to dance and play there own music. Kingwood House might also be worth considering…
