janepinkcat
Just to let people know there was a large rat on Goose Green yesterday morning - apologies for late post, it shot out of the long grass along the East Dulwich Road side. I've written to new councillor McAsh hoping for some action Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/192590-rat-on-goose-green-monday-21-may-9am/ Share on other sites
singalto
Rats are everywhere and I am not sure that a rat in the great outdoors is a problem. Better there than in your house! ed_pete
I do wonder if there are more about. We've had one in the garden this year for the first time ever, to our knowledge at least. And I found one in the fro.t garden compost bin yesterday. Never had one in there before. And no, we don't put cooked food in it, just plant and veg waste. Louisa
I?d rather have rats than people spitting everywhere, or leaving chewing gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe. The amount of take away food thrown on the streets when bins visible also makes me angry. If you don?t like rats, don?t chuck your crap on the floor.Louisa. Robert Poste's Child
It was probably picking up bits of food left from the recent fair and people having picnics. If people picked up after themselves there wouldn't be such easy pickings for rats and foxes. IlonaM
You're never that far from a rat in London. Years ago we used to take the foreign students in Halls to Lincolns Inn Fields and watch masses of them in the evenings. This was before the lawyers got together to overhaul the gardens. robbin
Or maybe the Councillor could go round to Louisa's flat, with a view to removing the chewing gum that someone has apparently stuck on the bottom of her shoe? You are constantly editing posts and then making out that it was for ?other reasons?. Very tiresome robbin. But I?m not the spelling police, so unlike you I won?t continue to raise it all the time. Ann
To the OP I do walk a dog regularly on Goose Green and came across a large dead rat the other day ( near to the gate near the bus stop),it was not a pleasant experience and I certainly hope no children have had the same. civilservant
to be clear - if you had posted about the risk to children and dogs from bad driving in ED, or the pollution from school-run drivers in ED, or the broken glass on pavements near the multitude of pubs and restaurants in ED, or the easy availability of junk food (to children) or chicken bones and other litter (to dogs) in ED, i would have been delighted to join forces with you in bothering new councillor mcashcomplaining to the councillor about a rat on goose green - come on!
