malumbu
I wont snigger, or post offensive responses. For the sake of balance please leave this thread for the hard line, or closet, Mail readers. And that is the Daily Mail not its offshoot free papers. Voyageur
Why ask?I read a variety of papers - DM, Financial Times, Independent, Times, Observer, Guardian and Telegraph being the main ones, although obviously not on a daily basis. minder
Malumbu you obviously don't read the Daily Mail for some reason, so what newspaper do you read? Alex K
Certainly I do. Free on-line and VERY entertaining. Any paper that lets me follow Liz Jones... She is an attention whore (well, probably like most media celebs TBH) and must be hell to live/work with but she makes me laugh with her outspokenness. Pickle
I unashamedly read the online version every evening, gives me a nice mix of proper news (albeit with the DM spin) and complete nonsense that is useful if I'm ever in a pub quiz team ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26720-who-reads-the-daily-mail-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-592142 Share on other sites
Voyageur
Although I accept that we all have our political leanings, I tend to steer clear of people who froth, rabidly at the mouth at the mention of any particular mainstream newspaper - polarised and entrenched views don't normally allow for balanced and informed conversations. red devil
I'm an online browser. Although it leaves me feeling dirty and racked with shame, I convince myself that before I can pass judgement I need to understand better the object of my contempt...and then I move on to the Daily Star Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26720-who-reads-the-daily-mail-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-592155 Share on other sites

woodrot
the DM are not stupid - they know that the under 45s would not be seen dead with a hard copy of their rag, but have tailored their site to appeal to the younger set - and IIRC, it has overtaken the New York Times in the online readership league now. The online version is heavy on paparazzi type gossip, the hard copy less so. Reading the online version is an entry point for the interweb generation & the brain dead grazers - before they know it, they are calling for abu whatever to be executed by hanging in trafalgar square, dole cheats to be castrated and massed bleating about leylaandi hedges. Dont do the Mail in any form - you will crave more and more Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26720-who-reads-the-daily-mail-in-east-dulwich/#findComment-592211 Share on other sites

Cassius
Its a bit like catnip for humans - you know you shouldn't, you know it's not doing you any good, but just one more outrageous story.......... an online secret that I now know I share with others. woodrot
Like Clarkson, the views expressed by the Mail may be irksome, but the delivery of those ideas is honed to perfection, rather like the Super Soaraway Sun back in its heyday. uncleglen
I have it on very good authority (people who have spent a long time in hospital) that the DM has the best puzzle page of all the newspapers.
