Hi there

does anyone know how to get a low traffic barrier on your road?

Since the ones went in near Lordship Lane a lot of traffic has diverted onto my road and in the morning's it's unbearable now. Longo long tailbacks from the lights. Would be good to get the road closed off at one end to stop this like other streets in the area.

thanks

There was a broken down truck on ED Grove at the junction with Half Moon lane causing huge tailbacks this morning - the difference between school drop off this morning vs yesterday was night and day because of it.

There are just so many people driving journeys that they wouldn't have done pre pandemic.

There was a lot more traffic this morning, even prior to the lorry breakdown at the EDG/Dulwich Village/Village Way/Red Post Hill crossroads.

JAGS & Alleyns returned today hence the increased traffic during drop off and collection times. The traffic in the area is not a problem when these schools are on holiday but as soon as they are back the traffic returns as well.

I imagine .... something like this? You form a small group in a posh road or roads and call yourself something like ?rich people for only our children?s health? then you flatter certain Borough councillors..get on any campaign or sub-group you can, Green-wash your NIMBY ideas and also helpful if you have something like an architect or town planner who is on a council planning sub-committee ... I imagine
I have never seen the traffic so bad as in the last few days - so by closing alot of main routes, the gridlock on the A roads are very bad, causing other routes to have to be used. It is complete and utter nonsense to assume that all the mobile tradespeople, builders vans etc are just going to disappear? Let alone people trying to get to their place of work (it now takes over an hour on the bus from penge to east dulwich due to gridlock)

Yeah but examples like yesterday show that the already closed roads are increasing tension on alternative arteries and when those arteries are compromised, options are limited for alt. routes.

If the other roads weren?t closed this wouldn?t be happening in CPR.

Apparently it all disappears as if by magic.. if only that were true.... Unicorns..meanwhile poor people .. breath the pollution and be grateful the wealthy multi-car owning roads in the Village have empty roads and nice (anti-homeless) benches...

    • So, i've had time to think about ever step of this incident. The main points are: I'd entered my pin number and was on the screen/page where you put in how much you want to withdraw At exactly that point the guy appeared and said the machine had taken his card, and started waving his hands over screen A 'menu' option came up on screen with two choices, one bottom left, one bottom right The bottom left option said something about entering a code to continue with transaction The guy was saying "press that or it'll take your card" - I didn't press either but he might have I haven't ever seen these on-screen options before - I didn't enter any details The guy then disappeared I pressed the 'cancel' button on keypad - the physical keypad - same screen options remained - no card was returned Within 30 seconds of me realising card wasn't coming out I froze card on banking app and immediately had two txt msgs from bank saying transactions were being declined (but one for £251 had already gone though). The ref on bank statement for all three was: CARDTRONICS UK LTD BT KIOSK O/S 54 EA. Bank statement also said the date, time and that there was a £1.50 ATM withdrawl fee.  I checked to see if there's a cashpoint in newsagent next door, but there's not. The cashpoint at petrol station is free so no ATM fee there eiher.
    • Indeed and I am sure many will go for the music, which I also like. But, for me, at least, none of that makes up for or justifies the wider impact on the park, on the flora and fauna, on the parks' regular users, and on those living near by that are distressed by the noise- the next three days will not be Lover's Rock. In terms of overall impact, we are also talking weeks and months, with the aftermath always problematic with the main area so damaged it has to be reseeded each year and is rendered unusable the rest of summer. My biggest fear is that they will start to grow and add to this event, each year.
    • Please help us find Yun LAU.  He was last seen on Dunstans Road at 12.30 today (23/5/25). He has dementia and is quite deaf. If found, please call police who have his details, or his daughter Jennie (07769666524)
