- reads the Forum weekly, even on holiday

- has started a thread on a frivolous topic

- no longer gets a telling off by boss for unexplained random giggling, just receives a hard look and a sigh

- wouldn't miss a Forum drink

- number of posts less than 500

Stage 3 (Addict)

- reads the Forum daily, even on holiday

- has started a thread on a serious topic, and fought off opposition from all comers

- Forum has been mentioned in annual appraisal

- invites other Forumites to important personal events in Real Life

- has secret crush on one or more other prominent Forumite

- has trouble deciding whether to go to next Forum drink or brother's wedding

- number of posts less than 2000

Setting them to be triggered by line crossing or areas of intrusion is worthwhile setting up as is linking them to a PIR sensor. The PIR could also be used to activate a sounder but that might upset your other neighbours. I have a few cameras around our property and I enjoy reviewing the recordings and apart from foxes and birds, I catch the occasional opportunistic thief on camera - like this one last Tuesday. If you need any help, please drop me a PM. S7.mp4

    • Well unless the heron got them later, there were the  two cootlets. I think some others of this year's babies must have escaped the heron. Many years ago (and possibly still, though I never see them any more) there was a whole heron family on the island  - mum, dad and youngster. I don't know how long herons live.
